NEED Michigan club/shaft fitter recommendation DETROIT area

I'm looking for a outfit OR a specific professional pro in the Metro Detroit area that will be able to fit me into a proper shaft for a new driver.

I know of a couple places that charge $150 to do this, but after doing it & spending the money I felt like it was the worst $150 I ever spent. I've honestly had other fitters spend more time with me for zero dollars, and I felt like I at least got some great information.

So, I figure, if I'm going to go threw the process again, then I should find a proven club fitter that will get me in the proper shaft for my driver, be it after spending $150 for that service or not.

There is a lot of information on shafts, and I want a fitter that knows his craft well.

Since you are a low handicapper, you must have a very good repeatable swing. Not sure what exactly looking for, but Miles of Golf in Ypsilanti does outside fittings with trackman. They are suppose to be one of the top 100 fitters in the nation. Carls Golfland also does fittings in Bloomfield Hills. I heard they also use trackman.

Go see Pete at Carls Golfland in Bloomfiled. He knows his craft very well. I used to go to the guy that is at Players Choice when he was closer to me, he knows his s**t as well but h is too far away now to travel back and forth. Players Choice is cheaper for a driver fitting but it is in a dome, Carls is closer and outdoor. PM me if you would like to discuss anything.

Seeing that you are in Brownstown now, I'd say Miles of Golf is closest to you. Not sure what their rates are.

Like others have suggested I would go either Miles of Golf in Ann Arbor or Players Choice in East Lansing. I know Chris at Players Choice and after my initially fitting over a year ago he's still continued to be available and make any tweaks to maximize my bag.

And since this is a thread about Michigan fitters I just have to say GO GREEN!!!! Lets get to the Final Four!

[/quote]I am very familiar with Miles and Carls and of course you can't go wrong,especially assuming your looking for higher end shafts. That said a guy who has been in business 30 years and manages to stay in business making clubs (components) and repairs is on Jefferson in downtown Trenton. He has done some terrific work for me over the years. Only thing is I am not sure he carries a lot of the very high end shats but certainly has access to it. If nothing else he is good to know for repairs. Shop is Custom Golf and the guy is Rick Smith. Tell him I (Doug) recommended him.
