I ordered the GP Tour Tradition midsize and it's not the same grip. It's about 1.5" longer than the 006 grip.
Maybe I should have gotten the standard size? But I thought I read somewhere that it was the midsize.

My grip which is exactly what Rory uses feels slimmer than the grip on the "006" feels closer to a ping man grip

OK, no problem. Glad I got it right.

I was thinking about just pulling the shaft to avoid the same debacle I experienced during the grip removal on the B2/01. I have an extra stepped shaft that I have used in other putters before that I like and may install it in the 006 at the length I want. For some reason, I just couldn't get the grip off cleanly and fearful I would completely ruin it... again. I need to read up for some tips.

Love the way the Method feels, I would have loved to have one of these to game and I'd pay $400 maybe even $500 for it...but no way will I fork over 1,000 + on eBay for one!

In the meantime, I'll continue to hunt for a Brad Faxon Scotty Cameron

I have 4 rounds in with my 006, best putter I have ever had, I have made more putts, long putts then i ever have. Shot my lowest rounds in quite a while too. I hope the honeymoon never ends.

I'm pulling the grip off mine and replacing it with an Iomic Absolute putter grip in lime green. I stocked up on these before they were discontinued.

Interesting, I made the same choice in black but it hasn't arrived yet. Probably won't get here until next week, so one more round with the original I guess. I've never tried one of the Absolutes but got it for a decent price.

I spoke with Nike today and they claim any of there grips can be ordered from any of their authorized retailers like Dicks, GS or Edwin Watts. I think I am going to order one of the original grips which is the Method Matter grip and the red Method Tour Tradition.

I would say no, and (sorry!) I hope not either from a selfish point of view. Personally I paid a bomb for it as we all did, retail was huge, and for them to just release more would technically be stiffing us. I bought it due to being a huge Rory fan and it's limited state. More releases would really feel like a slap in the face to me...do I sound awful? Haha.

I do not believe they will release any more of the 006 Prototypes with the Oven markings. I do believe they will sell a mass production Nike Method 006 with a cheaper made headcover for $250 within the next year. I really can't understand an argument why they wouldn't make a mass production model.

Ehh to be honest $400 isn't that bad...look at how much Camerons go for, and if you wanted to get a Circle T or a GSS Cameron youre going to pay 2x as much as you did for that Nike....I'm not advocating they sell 50,000 of them....bu maybe an additional 1500 more....2500 is still a small batch.

Ct putters start at 2k, At retail the 006 was 480 out the door. so 700-800 on ebay really isnt that bad for the 006 especially when it is an amazing putter.

I'm super skeptical about doing this now, I did this with a watch on eBay and it ended up being fake...The seller told PayPal I mailed him something different than he originally mailed me and I lost a grand. Ended up spending 6 hours creating a document pointing out every part of it that proved it was fake, they ended up giving me my money back but it was a nightmare.

eBay buyer protection is a lot more secure than paypal alone!

I can see your point, and I would never buy a high end watch on eBay, however I don't think there are many(if any)fake/counterfeit Method 006 Protos floating around. But I could totally be wrong...
