One thing that really caught my eye about 16 this week is how close the giant tree in the bunker appears to be. In reality, I guess you could debate how much it comes into play for these guys but it cant be more than 50 yards from the front of the green, it looks really close.

 

If nothing else it really challenges your eye in terms of where you are going to shape a shot in there from 250+ yards out.

I decided to grab some APEX irons and filled the rest of the slots with PiNgS. Also, I finally found a combo I like in a Callaway driver. 10.5 XR w/Diamana D+

 

I can't wait to test these babies on the course. ...I'm getting pumped.

 

They were definitely watering down the course heavily Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in anticipation of letting it dry out through the weekend. They are ripping up the greens Tuesday morning so if they completely brown out by Sunday then no one really cares. Sounds like they maybe misjudged how much water they put down initially but I'm guessing it dries out pretty good over the weekend.

 

Saw this drill Wednesday that Fabb claims is a great drill but I wouldnt go near it - let alone taking full speed driver swings.

 

 

Why ? You have drivers to spare.

I went out and practiced for ~2 hours. Hit some balls, then chipped and putted for 75 minutes. My game is ready to go. Wish I was playing tomorrow. I have something else going on tomorrow afternoon, but if I stay sober I'll get over to Hobbits to see the end of it. Good luck WRX guys.

played whiskey creek today. really pleasant playing a course when you can hit it just about any where off the tee. didn't play very clean but hit it to 2 feet, 3 feet and 4 feet for three birdies and shot 78. real good CCCP round because grint said my course handicap was 8

Went out to Pine Ridge for a pracky sesh around 3:30 today.
