My idea was when 4+ golf match users are at a course its send you a push notification on a "Hot Spot" of where golf match app users are located...sort of like FourSquare. This would enable you to message them right away to see if they need an additional person to play or for you to join them and get out on the course.

The trap many apps fall into is trying to do too many things. A much better approach is to do 1 thing better than anyone else or, ideally, something that no other app does. By far that's the matching system. In my opinion, that's what should be the star and the first thing you see when you open up the app, not the news feed. The news feed feels like a throw away item as is. Perhaps with some filtering options like others have suggested it would be more useful. Some people only spend a few seconds inside a new app before deciding if they'll keep or delete. It's possible some users might miss the matching system if they just assumed it was a golf news app.

From a design standpoint, I've seen better and I've seen worse. There just doesn't seem to be much of an identity here. Zero personality. From the website to the app, it looks like a lot of stock icons with an off-the-shelf feel, especially that Golf Match logo. Invest in an agency or designer that can truly bring your brand to life.

I downloaded the app, and I've been messing with it for a while.
Not everyone you meet through this app is going to be enjoyable experiences; so adding a feature to make a personal note for other app users would be great.
But I think the user base has to expand quite a bit to have a feature like that be useful.

Downloaded the Android app. Works surprisingly well considering most devs seem to treat Android as an afterthought.

Would like to see a ratings system similar to what other sites like ebay and WRX have. That way you know if the profile is legit.

would be nice to be able to list the course and price of the round and then specify that you are looking to find partner(s).

this way if searching, you could choose course and see if anyone is planning to play a certain time and wants to join up
