Well, I sent a playing partner into a tailspin this weekend.

So I'm playing our club skins game on Sunday. It's handicapped by index and tee box and they try to keep you grouped with similar level players so your foursome is hitting from the same tees. This means we typically play with the same guys. I haven't been playing as much for the last year because my game had dropped off and I hadn't really been competitive when I did play. There's only a handful of guys that can out drive me and I got got paired with one that has been about 10+ yards past me since my long slump began. So for the entire front nine all I'm hearing is how he's not getting any roll because the the fairways have been over watered. Then on the back he keeps changing out his balls saying he must have got a bad sleeve of Pro-V1 Xs. They're duds he says! I guess this is what happens when you turn the tables on a guy that' only remembers out driving you for a while. I was routinely 10-15yds past him and on two bombs over 30yds longer. That reward was worth more than the payout at the end!!!

Thanks. The few that have jumped on these shafts before me all said they had similar results and that it will get even better. With so many false claims thrown around about golf equipment I've been skeptical about 7D performance claims from the very start...but I'm starting to see the light.

Probably the best looking shaft I've ever seen...think of the tightest looking carbon fiber weave you can imagine running the length of the shaft....simple, understated, black, mean

I'd like to pretend this is an update but really I'm just bragging. Just took the long drive contest in a 4 man scramble I was invited to. It wasn't even my best shot...this shaft is like cheating!

They didn't give a measured distance and we didn't have GPS but it was around 320ish. And if I had to guess further I'd say 30-40yds rollout based on a couple other holes that had bunkers to carry in that range.

When two ultimate technologies in golf industry collide... I shall update my findings within 24 hours, but initial testing was impressive to say the least...

 

This will be something.... you went with the iron shafts as well?

7D shafts are very good, I've been through a ton of them including the pricey limited edition one which i found to be slightly inferior to the cheaper basic 7D model. the shafts do what they say they do, they can keep spin low, take out the left side to some degree.....increase height and carry......help you find more fairways and feel great while doing it.....BUT they do not increase ball speed. all my gains from driving length was because the shaft fit me and gave me maximum distance on crappy swings. Ive found the bangvoo to be almost as good and the new tensei shafts to be slightly better/tighter fit for me. Oh and the finish on that raw carbon is starting to break down.....maybe they should have painted the section where bag rub occurs

I actually tried the iron shaft first, then the driver. In all honesty, the driver shaft feels really good but lacking in ball speed. Just as PureSurf found out much earlier than I did. However, the iron shafts are something else. Accuracy is really great and dispersion is really tight. However, at about $1,800 a shaft... I can actually buy a new car!
