Got to play in 80* weather today. Shot 42-35 for a smooth 77. Got it clicking on the back nine after a really frustrating front nine. Anyone still playing?

Believe it or not, I got out 2 weeks ago Sunday. It was nearly 60 degrees when we walked off the course. Had a great time, and joined up with a stranger. Lots of fun. Shot 79 with a million putts.

Thanks Easyyy. It was a solid effort with the putter on the back, but my irons got hot and I was hitting them close.. The front was filled with junk approach shots and not getting up n down.

This is so awesome!!!!!!, I have been playing for the last few weeks since the weather has been great, played yesterday and played well (74, 37-37...scored better than what I really played, few birdies and dropped a few to match), i will try to keep the swing going throughout the winter...I cannot wait to meet all of you and have a great time, take care and happy holidays...

Can't say I've played lately, I think the last round was sometime around early to mid November. Anytime it's been warm enough to play, it's been raining and just miserable outside. Needless to say, I'm pumped about this!!! The fact we're testing drivers is even better as hopefully I can find something that works well since driving is the weakest part of my game...by far.

Looking forward to meeting y'all in a few weeks.

I'm with you... I have kind of a high maintenance game, and play a lot of golf (100+ official rounds this season) when I can, but Winter is here to stay, and I haven't played in quite a while - but will hitting in the sims a couple times a week to try get a swing grooved before the event.

I'm in a Weekly league, and will be committing myself to sim range time as well, weekly.

We had a pretty unprecedented warm spell in December--I played as recently as December 13-14, but I had to travel for work the next week (to L.A., where it was about the same temperature most of the time), and the week leading up to Xmas was very playable, if I could have gotten away with it (it was 50 degrees on The 25th). There was actually even a tornado that missed my house by about 3-4 blocks last week, which was the first ever tornado on record in the state. It has since cooled down, and we had a real soaking rain/sleet/snow storm acouple days ago, so barring an unexpected warm spell, winter seems to have officially started,though there isn't any real bitter cold in the forecast yet.

Still playing locally, played Sanctuary Lakes in Troy last Saturday and hitting many balls up at my local Golfsmith.
Always looking for that edge in distance when it comes to the driver.

Are we supposed to be keeping the fact that we were picked for the Gear Trials under wraps? I've met several people through this board that I talk to outside of WRX, and I wasn't sure if it was cool to mention that to them, or to talk about it in our Michigan Golf thread or anything like that.

I've been hit in the sims for 15 minutes about 4 days a week.. Hoping to truly find my groove again before the GT's.

I just got back from hitting balls at Miles of Golf. I hit 75 balls and probably 35 of them with the driver. I'm going to try to do this 1-2 times a week and gradually hit more balls. Gotta get in shape for all those driver swings.

I didn't. I didn't really talk to anyone working there. I was in a hurry so I went right outside and started hitting balls. They have a range ball machine so you don't even have to go into the shop to get balls.

Worked out a little this morning and it felt just a little tight. Gonna keep from swinging a club for at least a week.

My preparation today consisted of walking 27 holes on a soaking wet golf course. When you live in Michigan, and it's 50 degrees in January, you pretty much have to get out and play.

Started swinging the driver really well the last nine, so hopefully I can bring 200 of those in 4 weeks.
