The Pebble Beach National Pro-Am is terrible. This is probably the most disappointing tournament of the year each and every time it comes around. How do you take a world-famous venue like PB and hold what's arguably the worst tournament of the year there?

 

How can the tournament not get a few more interesting/qualified/entertaining people. The celebs are D-list at best.

 

No "A-Lister" wants to play a 6 hr round.

If Berman was a more likeable guy like Barkley the hate wouldnt be so bad towards his golf game.

 

With that said, Berman is on my top 5 "celebrity" That i would love to never see on TV again. Ive heard some stories about how Berman really is and its not good.....

Some of the comments are quite harsh, but when you put yourself out there on national television with a swing that looks like a crash dummy thrown from a car at 60mph, you're pretty much asking for it. That, coupled with the long history of Bermen being a self absorbed, arrogant, belittling stain of a human being, it's people's chance to strike back legitimately at a person who is pretty unlikeable. For a guy with so many problems and inadequacies he sure loves the s*** out of himself, so he can take it.

The worst part of the end of this year's football season has been Berman's "retirement" and seeing all these sportscasters going on like he cured freakin' cancer or something.

 

Berman is a classic example of someone of moderate talent being in the right place at the right time.

Was I the only kid that liked him on NFL Primetime growing up? We'd always be making his juke noises and stuff playing football in the courtyards in college. His golf swing is awful though. The "you're with me, leather" story is comic gold.

Please take this to the Tour/AT&T. Would be awesome to see how they actually hit it...as long as Adam Sandler actually does the Happy Gilmore swing off every tee and uses his hockey stick putter.

The biggest joke is the guy gets mad and makes all kinds of excuses. It's like, come on man, you know you completely suck and your 15 handicap is as vanity as it gets. Why get mad when you're a legit 30 handicapper who maybe hits one quality shot a round and can't break 110 on any par 72 hole course in the world without cheating on every hole. You'd think he'd be used to being a total chop, but by the reaction and his frustration you can see he's trying to live up to his lying 15 handicap mental creation. His giant ego won't let him accept that he's a 30, and that everyone expects him to slash and chop every shot and that his golf swing is the stuff of nightmares. I'd bet he's a chronic club thrower and profanity slinger in untelevised rounds. If I played half that baddly I'd quit and find a new hobby. The game is just much too difficult for some, and he's one of those people.

 

A couple of the celebs like Kenny G and Timberlake are actually decent players. Maybe 5-6 handicappers, but not a single guy out there is the 1 or scratch player they claim to be.

 

Colt Ford is probably one of the best amateurs out there. Played on the web.com for a brief stint
