I am pretty sure it’s stiff because of what I found it with. I just realized it’s missing the band though so I can’t be sure. How can I tell?

If it's a bore through, look at the color of the plug in the bottom of the shaft.

You can also compare the step pattern to shafts you know.

In hand it looks like it hasn't been used more than a round.

A steal at that price. Very Nice!

The second one I got out of Goodwill. I got another one years ago - can't recall if it was an 18* or 20* but I did at one point have another one.

It must be a TT Dynamic Stiff. The step pattern is exactly the same.

Wilson didn't use different color Fluid Feel plugs for different shaft flexes.

They had a colored band beneath the last step. Black for regular. Red for stiff. But after 1961 the plugs were always red unless it was a special order item.

The Limited Edition remake of the 1965 Staff irons that Edwin Watts sold in the mid 1980s used a black plug.

The Walter Hagen irons usually had the black plugs.

Of course, the current FG100s use a black plug. To me, those are a new set of irons with an old name on them. The look of them at address doesn't remind me of a Wilson Staff iron in any way. The Staff irons, through all their many versions, had a similar look at address from model to model even if the back design or sole width changed. That look was completely abandoned with the FG100s.

Thanks for the info!

Those woods are great! I played them for years. I can honestly say I've never hit a better wooden golf club, regardless of brand, regardless of laminated or persimmon.

One thing that I believe made them playable was that the fairways had one degree more loft than what was standard at the time. 17/20/23 for the 3/4/5 respectively. I rarely carried the 3 wood because the 4 wood was such a high percentage performer.

Sometime back in the mid 1980s, a chain in the area in which I was living at the time made a large "special purchase" of Citation laminated woods. Taylor Made and the like had gone through their first run or two of metal woods and a lot of guys were looking to make the switch back to wood. That chain quickly sold every set of those they had and those woods stayed in players' bags for years.

I would echo that. Nothing looks as good as a nice persimmon block, but 2 laminated clubs, a Hogan Radial driver and a Wilson Tour Block 4 wood, are amongst the standout clubs in terms of feel and performance, that I remember hitting. The Hogan driver was I think 11.5*, and I carried the 4 wood instead of a 3 and it was a totally reliable safety club off the tee and off the deck.
