Bryson DeChambeau signs ball and glove deal with Bridgestone

Good for him, Bridgestone makes some of the best balls in the business in my opinion. Only reason I'm going to play Srixon this year is because I got 4 dozen personalized around Christmas for like $90...

 

B330s is an awesome golf ball. Little surprised with them talking about his 120+ MPH clubhead speed this weekend he's putting the s in play over the standard.

 

Kutchar plays the S too. Not so much about the club head speed as it is control vs distance. Now if he was playing the RX that would be a HUGE question mark. The difference between the 330 and 330S is like the Pro V1 vs V1x

 

That makes sense. I always played the S just because I liked the softer feel a bit more but I guess there are probably lots of unknowns. He could just be a really low spin striker of the ball and the extra spin may be wanted, etc.

 

Every time I've been fit it was into the S and I'm high launch/spin. I'm 6-5, 295# and swing around 118-120. I was told by different fitters the S spins less off of the driver and more around the greens. The black had a little more ball speed b/c it is firmer, but the S was just as long and straighter.

That is what I was told and what I was fit into both times I was fit by Bridgestone. Wanted an unbiased opinion so had a buddy of mine who was a pro fit me and saw the same thing. S had less side spin on driver but black was slightly longer because it was a little higher compression. This was w generations ago, heard there is less difference in last year's version. Haven't hit this year's version.

JCfountain's comments are spot on. It's always been a fitter's secret that the S model fits those that swing around 120 and higher better. As mentioned, less spin off driver and better spin/feel in short game.

And how many golfers are using the TM TPX? I would think more people use Bridgestone than TaylorMade balls on tour even though they are both lower than Titleist.

He played the B330-S as an amateur, before turning pro. That's the whole point.
