GHIN app not working

Is anyone else having issues with the GHIN app? A bunch of us have not been able to access it since at least Sunday. Keeps timing out or telling us no internet connection.

Yes every one is having the problem. I got an email from the FSGA they know about it no time table on when it will be up. You can still post scores online

Yes, said I was not a recognized member when trying to log in, but successfully posted my score on the website.

All my playing partners having problems also. Pain in the neck going to full site on my phone to post. Hope they don't get rid of the app.

Have been unable to post from my computer for the last several days. The site does not recognize my number when trying to post but does recognize it when I look up my handicap. Hmmmm. Not sure if it's related to the app issue. Also, the entire site was down for most of the day a few days ago.

Glad someone asked this, I was thinking about posting it.

 

Mobile app says "no membership information found for this number and last name". So can't even look anything up.

 

the option was still there to post on the home computer.

 

UPDATE: the site now says the mobile app is currently under construction.

Clearly the USGA doesn't understand Computer technology development at all or doesn't care for its customers. The app shouldn't be out for this long. Most companies would have rolled back the working version to make it correct again. generally one does testing of the app prior to implementing it and generally have a backup plan carefully worked out if the changes don't work correctly. Most decent IT departments actually require a carefully thought out backout plan.

 

Saying the app is now under construction clearly implies that they didn't have a backout plan. And they're making some drastic changes that are not well tested before implementation.

 

Wonder what change they're making to the app? Shouldn't take this long to get running again. Rumors some time ago had them making a change to force you to show that you played with "Peers". or something like that to enforce the not playing alone rule on posting..

Please do not be alarmed regarding your membership. If you are currently in good standing with your club there is no impact to your membership status.

The USGA is working to restore functionality to the GHIN Mobile app as quickly as possible.In the interim, please use GHIN.comor the mobile version of the site for smartphones and tablets, http://m.ghin.com/ to record your scores.

Frankly the USGA should be embarrassed for how long it's taking them to resolve. Technically incompetent.

Sunday is the first day I noticed the app not working and still not working today. Too many sandbaggers at my club won't post scores due to this issue.

UPDATE: GHIN Mobile App Service Issues

April 28th 2016 - GHIN is currently experiencing technical issues with the GHIN mobile app. After identifying a significant increase in traffic on the mobile app, GHIN made the decision to disable the mobile app’s access to GHIN until the problem and a complete solution could be found. This was done to preserve the integrity and access to core GHIN functions like score posting.

All core GHIN functions (score posting, handicap lookup, TPP) are still available through www.ghin.com. Only access through the mobile app has been interrupted.

GHIN reports that they are close to having a solution in place, but will delay the implementation until after the May 1 revision date in order to protect the integrity of the revision process. After the revision is complete, GHIN will begin full testing of the apps and interfaces. They will make the new apps available after successful tests are complete. it's optimized for the iPhone 5 screen size and not the 6 or 6 Plus. it looks fine but it's smashed together. just my OCD talking.
