Also late to the game. My first club with tunable weights. My miss is left and having the weight all the way to the toe was a game changer for me, At least on the simulator. Never had a driver that curves so little. Was all set to drop whatever i need to on a shaft but ended up having the best results and feel with the Diamana 60S+, even better than the all mighty AD DI.

FWIW my M1 came very under weight at a total head weight of 191g. It STUNK because of this. I just added about 9g of lead tape and it was much better. I messed with the weights, too.. I added both to the front track which killed my spin, but it was holy unforgiving and sounded weird too. Next, I am putting both weights in the back track, split so one is all the way back, and one up front. I put the lead tape as close to the tracks as possible. Heaviest weight in the back. I'll probably mess around a bit and see what happens when they are both up near the front.. both near the back.

Did you remember to include the weight of the adapter as part of the total clubhead weight? For swingweighting purposes, the shaft adapter is clubhead weight, not additional shaft weight.

:golfer:

I compared it to my Fly Z, which was 199g head weight only, so adapter is irrelevant.

Not really, TM adapters weigh approximately 7.5-grams. Adding that it in would yield a weight of approximately 198.5-grams which is quite typical.

The standard TM adapters are heavier and do come in different weights. Currently have 9g and 11g in my 200g head w/ adapters.

#5 "TaylorMade’s 2017 M1 driver uses a 15-gram weight in its heel-toe weight track, and a 12-gram weight in its front-back weight track."

I've managed to have use of a Demo M1 460 in 9.5 with the Stiff HZRDUS and WOW....I'm amazed!!

I got fitted for a 917D3 last year at Titleist UK Fitting Centre and although I questioned the 10.5' loft I was put in I trusted the fitter

I was reasonably happy for a while but didn't't notice any distance gains over my 910 D3 and was still getting a very high ball flight with very little roll

One of my playing partners recently got a 2016 M2 and went from being 5 yards behind me to 10 in front consistently so I wondered if I was missing out

Anyway.....I am not one to believe in the huge distance gains that are advertised but last weekend I hit 3 of the longest drives of my life with the M1 and was comfortably ahead of my supposedly fit 917D3 by a good 20 yards and with a far better and powerful ball flight

I will be taking the Demo back tomorrow and buying a M1 (which I never thought i'd do again after the SLDR)

i have had an r15 for a few yrs and loved it. finally decided to give the m1 a try. didn't care for the 2016 version. tried the 2017 and found that it worked well for me. i'm trying to lighten it by a couple swts and have been told by several taylormade phone reps that they come with a 12 gm and a 15 gm weight only and that they don't sell wt kits. whan i removed my stock wts, one had a 9 stamped on it the other had an 11. i'm assuming the #s designate gms. just wondering how people out there are dealing with m1 weight issues.

Bumping this thread, curious to know if people are still using this driver? I remember Ian Fraser saying its like the OG M2 but with slightly higher launch. Which sounds pretty amazing since M2 was a great driver.

Matt Wolff has it back in the bag. This was on George Gankas’s instagram last week.

I still have the m1 laying around too. The the m1/m2 series was the best ever for TM. Once they introduced the twist face nonsense, the feel has gone down hill in my opinion. Hope they get rid of it soon.

Twist Face isn't going to affect the feel, it's purely a correction to bulge and roll, that hadn't been properly accounted for as the clubheads got larger and larger.  Twist Face appliled to the M1 or M2 wouldn't change the feel.  It's coincidental, related to other changes in the clubhead designs over the years.
