I am happy with the clubs I have now. I can't imagine new clubs from any OEM would be THAT much of a game changer. I could be wrong though.

I kid, i love my Epic! No issues yet

 

Did Chip say they were going to slow down product releases? I remember asking him if they had considered longer cycles, and if i recall he answered me along the lines of that if anything they had considered shorter cycles but it just wasn't feasible. I do remember specifically him saying they had already started R&D on the new driver before they even released the Epic, and that it was almost impossible to turn a driver in under a year.

 

I do not recall them saying they were going to longer cycles, i know i asked about it in the roundtable but don't remember that answer beyond the above which if anything lended me to believe they wished they could turn product even quicker

 

Of course, it's possible i was daydreaming about Amanda and missed things

We’ve had some of the coldest temps on record here over the last 30 days.

No unfortunately not. This was ordered.

A year later I still can’t believe they gave me any of what they did.

I can chime in on this subject.

 

We/They are sticking to 18-24 months cycle but that is family cycles.. So there will be new stuff every year. Xr16 replacement = Rogue, Steelheads will be replace with ??, Epic will be replaced eventually with ??, so on and so on.

 

Epic irons were a surprised, to please the lower/blades lovers.. Xfroged/APexv MB and the cant stop, won't stop APEX irons as well.. going on 3 season with those babies..(should come to an end this year)

 

XR16, Xr, Xr pro, and Xr OS line was replaced with Rogue..

 

Md3 replaced with MD4

I appreciate your response! I understand what they are trying to say with that different family release cycles, but the lines are certainly blurred.

Both have Jailbreak technology, adjustable hosel, Boeing aerodynamics on the crown, and practically identical low-spin weight placement. Callaway is saying these 2 drivers are part of are entirely different families? I'm reserving final judgment until the full release with technical specifications, but it is not the best look.

 

And now we have a picture of the 2018 staff bags on Tour, Rogue-themed, and new 3W.

 

 

Did the XR line ever have a staff bag featured on Tour? I know the Epic did all of last year. And now Jailbreak technology is extending to the 3W. It seems more and more like the Rogue is this years premier line, an evolution of the Epic family, 12 months later.

Don't believe so but the Great Big Bertha did.. They did just released staff bags with blue and white them.. as well as black/white theme but can't recall the XR16 having one.

 

Don't forget the hybrids will get the jailbreak too...

It’s certainly not as exciting as Jeff having a kid but my wife and I are very excited for the pup we adopted yesterday. He’s a 1 year old Lab.
