SuperSpeed Golf training system

Questions are great. I see gains more "month to month" now. I also only do "dominate side" swings. When I do see a "gain" it is not huge but still a gain. My iron play is much more solid as opposed to when I did not do it. I do the same exercises three exercises but will mix up reps. One day I might do 3 per session but take 1 to 2 minute break. Thanks buddy, my days of 5 x 5 heavy have been over for a while. Tore my right rotator cuff probably 10 years ago. Need to have my left shoulder replaced due to major arthritis and bone on bone at the joint. Matter of fact just had a couple of cortisone/lidocaine injections a couple of weeks ago. 

 

I pretty much will alternate medium and light weights with slow very deliberate reps. It has actually allowed me to maintain most of my muscle mass so far. Workouts take a little longer but it is what it is.

 

Once again thanks for the info and going to start the blue sticks only tomorrow.

I'm on Training Level 3 and looking to print out a worksheet.

 

When I do a Google search I get 2 different PDFs.

 

One includes Normal, Kneeling, Double-Step, Normal and is 12 weeks long.

 

The other is Normal, Heel Stomp, Double-Step, Max Out and is 5 weeks long.

 

Does anyone know which on is correct? I think it's the 5 week program but want to be sure.

 

Either way, their web site is a bit of a mess. All of the 'old' pages should have been purged or should be labeled as obsolete, etc.

I don't think they do the kneeling drill anymore. So I would say your 2nd list of drills is correct.

old athletes that still lift have horrible shoulders I get it... Mine will come out of socket every once in awhile hurts like MF...

They do not probably too many injuries, I do sparingly feel like it helps seperate upper from lower.. I also rock my my feet a lot with mini swings. front heel up weight into back heel then vice versa on forward swing. I never swing from a stagnant situation. Padriag Harrington has a great video on it on utube.

Anyone else doing the Blue stick only please feel free to post up with what your doing and the drills / frequency.

 

I have an idea of what I'm going to do but always good to hear what has/is working for others.

 

I think I'm going to go with the following.

Drill A - 3 x 5 reps all Standing Max out, will do this 3 times a week

Drill B - 3 X 10 reps all standing Max out, will do this 2 times a week

 

All swings on dominant side.

 

Will alternate Drill A/B every other week.

A few days ago i read in this thread about the blue stick only protocol from par4sucess and the discussions about it in this thread. It make sense to me to only doing the blue stick, i feel that the green stick messes up the tempo and swing, overswing. Playing golf the day after a sessions it takes me a few holes to to get back to where i was last time i played. I also notice that i have a hard time with the follow trough, rotating the body and hands when hitting a ball, this is probably because the sticks doesn't have a clubface so i don't turn.

 

someone mentioned that they have never seen a green och red club in WITB and when i think about it i can't remember either. 

 

Anyways i did my first blue only stick session today and will try it out. This is what i did:

 

5 x dominat standing swings, 5 x non dominant standard swings

rest 3 min

5 x dominant step swings, 5 x non dominant step swings

rest 3 min

5 x max out dominant standing swings

5 x max out driver(no ball)

 

I bought some foamballs i will be hitting at the end of a session.

Started training half heartily several weeks ago, level one. Two thoughts so far.  I'm at a "mature" age and I find that I'm beating my body up. I have a bad back, arthritis in my right hand/ wrist and now in the follow through it feels like my left shoulder is being stabbed with an ice pick. So that's no big deal compared to some of the other self-destructive sports i engage in. I've noticed my speed increasing slightly using the sticks. The real big change I've found is with normal club swings. I think I've been so careful to swing more precisely in my simulator that I was holding off letting the club move. So I think the training swings have translated into my taking advantage of my actual existing potential swing speed. I'm 6'4" and I'm known as a "short hitter".  Recent #'s for example, 7 iron 160 yds up from from 135 yds. My wedges have all gained 10 yards, my swing speed for them up to upper 70's to lowere80's. Just my thoughts up to this point, I'll carry on and maybe I can get my driver speed in the 90's ,ouch.
