Precision Pro NX7/NX7 Pro

Has anyone had any issues picking up partial flags? For instance, you're shooting a flag that's up on an elevated green and not fully visible. For some reason the past few times I've tried getting these flags I've gotten a number half the actual distance (based on the "middle" number on my Garmin watch)

I have. One thing my Bushnell did a lot better with. Seem to need to be able to see a lot of the flag or else you will get the yardage to the hill.

I've had the same problem. I just aim a little higher and it usually does the trick.

Used the Pro for the second round yesterday and ran into weird issue. About the 5th hole, no matter what target I shot, it just kept showing 3.4 yards and after trying multiple times at different targets it just displayed (- - -) and no numbers at all. I took out the battery and put it back in and that seemed to fix the problem for a few holes then the issue appeared again. Anyone else running into this problem? I know I'm not blocking the laser while holding and I'm shooting at wide open greens with no elevation.

If you can't see much of the flag it will be tougher to get a proper distance. The reason for this is the same reason it's easy to pick up the flag vs. trees behind a green. The laser measures to the first object it hits. You're probably catching the top of the hill and since it's before the flag it's the first thing the laser sees.

Try aiming a little higher up or just at the top of the flag and it could help.

It sounds like in this instance you may be getting a hand or finger around the front of the rangefinder. This can partially block the bottom lens. The unit is smaller and we've seen a few instances of this happening. Try shooting with your hands back a bit and see what that does. If that doesn't help we'll make sure to get it working for you.

Thanks for the quick response. I know when I'm holding it to make sure not to block the lens after reading some of the issues others have had. I really like how lightweight it is. I only hold it one way and it was working fine until after a few holes then the issue started. Again, taking out the battery and putting back in seemed to fix the problem briefly before it happened again. Any other ideas?

The mail in rebate ended on June 30 for the NX7 rangefinders.

If you purchased the NX7 before June 30, you can get the rebate form online:

https://precisionprogolf.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/217965848-Mail-In-Rebate-Redemption-Card

Where is the info about the rebate? Went to several sites and none offered it. Rockbottom has a link, but same price as elsewhere.

Edit: Found manufacturer's rebate on their website, but it ended yesterday.

If you are still getting these 3-4 yard readings, we would suggest exchanging the NX7 so we can test the unit in our factory.

Sorry to hear this happened. When you say lost it, do you mean lost the rangefinder completely? Weren't able to find it? Thanks

the hook openèd by itself, so I lost the case with the rangefinder inside, when I realize, I walked back the holes that I already played but unfortunately without luck.

so there's another happy user of the new prox7 for free.

That's no good. Can you send an email to [email protected]? Send us some more info- when, where you bought it and we'll see what we can do to help you out. Thanks

Precision Pro - I'm just getting back into golf and began looking around for range finders earlier this week. I see the rebate period has ended - are there any other deals coming up? I'm interested in getting a range finder here in the next week or so and through my research (and reading your replies of customer service in this thread) I am interested in the nx7 pro!

I've got to watch my fingers on mine. Big hands can be problematic - you have to keep them farther back than you think.

After playing with a buddy who had a rangefinder yesterday I got the itch. I'm now researching "budget" rangefinders and the NX7Pro looks very promising. My budget is ~$200.

I'm looking at the Nikon Coolshot 20, the TecTecTec VPRO500/500S, and the NX7/NX7Pro. Would like the slope and vibration features, but ultimately just want an accurate rangefinder.

So, I just found the NX7Pro at Rock Bottom for $199 with their 20% off promo for the British Open. Pretty much going to seal the deal on my decision. Plan on ordering this weekend.

P.S. Would much rather order directly from PP to directly support a WRX Vendor, if that helps in any way.

Just wanted to let you know that is the NX7 which is not the slop model. The slope model is the NX7 Pro. Didn't want to you to have any confusion on which was which. Thanks

Anyone else have the elastic band on the case become so stretched out that it barely works?

If you're having an issue with the case send us an email and we'll get it replaced for you. Thanks

I had the wrong link at first but fixed it. The NX7 Pro is $200 through Sunday at RBG

I bought the NX7 Pro and used it for the first time Sunday. The target acquisition works great and I love it.

The slope did not give the results I expected. Shots that I know play a club uphill were registering as a yard or two longer or even downhill. It makes me curious what algorithm it uses. I will probably just turn slope off. It doesn't take away from this being accurate for distance and really easy to tag.

If I do this 11,548 more times, I will be having fun. - Zippy the Pinhead
