So What Else Do You Like To Do Besides Golf?

Recommended Posts

I'm on a long sabbatical so finding and pursuing interests is a big focus for me right now! Golf is probably number one, but followed closely by:

1. Travel (just got back from a nine-month trip with wifey to Asia and Australia/NZ)

2. Photography (not great at this yet, but tend to like landscapes and portraits)

3. Piano (getting back after a long break)

4. Working out and staying fit

5. Video games

6. Reading (completely lost interest in TV for some reason; used to love it)

Would like to do more outdoors stuff on a regular basis too.

That pretty much keeps me occupied these days...

I love deep sea fishing. More than golf. The whole ocean, boat, fishing experience. My goal is to retire near the ocean with a private boat slip.

I also love sports cars. I've had a few nice cars.

Golf comes in third.

Lemme know if you need a deck hand. I can cut and I can tie. Oh and if you need a car jockey..

Just pack the cooler with beer and you're in. :)

I'm really into fitness. I'm not talking that crossfit nonsense. I am biased and I call crossfit nonsense because they are all about bad form.

How can you tell if someone does crossfit? They tell you.

No, I'm talking real hard training in the gym. I began bodybuilding and since I've then, my distances have greatly increased and my game has been taken to a new level. Anybody interested in training and wanting to gain real distance that isn't being sold to you in a club, should give a training program called Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 a try. It's your basic 5x5 training program plus some additional lifts.

Oh yeah, I also like equestrian.

Surf fishing the Texas coast.

Shooting pigs at night.

3 gun competition.

I have always wanted to go down to Texas and bag a feral hog and ship the meat home. I hear it can be done pretty cheap because y'all are practically begging hunters to help eliminate them. I have also heard conflicting reports on how the meat tastes. I know a 30-30 would work, but how about a .44 mag lever action or 5.56 AR?

30-30 and 44 mag would be adequate, but the 223 would not be recommended. Bullet is kind of light. Most likely shatter without getting much penetration. Just make the hog mad which is generally not good for those around at the time. You want to stay in the 30s to 40s caliber wise with enough velocity to still carry considerable energy at 50 - 100 yards.

I usually only allow myself two major hobbies at any given moment due to family and work life being higher on the priority list. I actually just picked up playing golf again after an almost 2-year hiatus due to a minor car accident. So right now it's golf and firearms even though I live in the worst state for pro 2nd ammendment activities. The neutered magazines, handgun roster list, and the newly passed "assault" weapon laws almost make me want to get the hell out of California... unfortunately, I love this area too much and I don't want to move until my older kids are done with college

I do most of my shooting on private land and I have a couple AR rifles and a pistol I built along with my NPAP and a few polymer handguns. My favorite one to shoot is the NPAP. I'm no marksman but I'm pretty consistent hitting an 8" steel target from 200 yards away.

Thanks! Where are some good areas to go? (sorry if this is h/j)

Pretty much everywhere as far as I know. Friend of the family hunts on a deer lease in west Texas and shoots plenty there. South Texas is pretty much full of piggies. I think central Texas is the same way. Hubby's brother in Waco has pigs rooting around on his land outside of town (not too far from Bush ranch). He hates them because they mess with his deer feeder. Check online. You will probably find hunts from Cadillac soirees to do it all yourself hunts on the cheap. I don't hunt so this is mostly stuff I hear from my hubby and others when I visit TX.

It is weird how different states have different procedures and prohibited laundry lists. I lived in the bay area for 5 yrs and early on one day walking through the local walmart I saw firearms and asked the guy what do I need to buy a gun? And he says your driver's license and fill out this form. So, 5 days later I had my very first ruger 10-22.

Here back in Jersey you gotta go to the cop shop and get FP'd and wait 5 months...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
