C16 irons vs AP2

Does anyone have experience with both these sets? I'm a long time AP2 player looking for a little more zip and forgiveness and C16s have my attention.

 

Would love some feedback between the two and any comparison pics would be amazing.

I hit them at a demo day about a month ago. It didn't have the normal shaft in it that I play with, but I wasn't blown away. For the price, my AP2's felt better and C16's didn't seem worth the extra ~$1500.

Had the 716 AP2s with Aldila Proto T graphite shaft. Had owned original AP2s & 712s irons. Sold my 716s and splurged for the C16s. C16s are like AP1.5s. Long & very forgiving. I have the Kuro Kage 85 gram graphites in mine. Liked my 712s, liked my 716s, but the C16s are the best move I ever made.

Both are great irons. CF16 are more forgiving, that is why I bag them. Definitely longer but distance control is not a problem. Height can be managed with the right shaft.

The C16 seem to be a perfect blend between the AP1s & the AP2. I suspect that the "concept" C16 prototype will eventually end up in the '18s, either in the AP1s or AP2s. Doubt there will actually be an AP1.5 to market in November. I do know the '18s are a big secret. The C16s were just what I needed, even though I really liked the AP2s and could have played them forever.

My instructor hit my C16 7 iron and was very impressed with the distance and the 1.40 smash factor. The 4 iron in the set has become my go to club on par 5's or any long shot for that matter. It's easier to hit than my 21 degree hybrid and just as long.

Size compared to AP2 not much bigger or noticeably bigger? Anyone have topline pictures?

The C16's have the same lofts of the AP1's which are stronger than the AP2's. The C16's also have the same offset as the AP1's.

I had the 716 AP1 & AP2's and the C16's. Bootheal Bear put it best, the C16 feel like a combination of the best of the AP1 & AP2. I've had my C16's for almost a year and I still love them. Long and forgiving, they have a great forged feel of the AP2's with the loft and offset of the AP1's. Couldn't be happier with my decision. I also tried the Callaway APEX C16 combo and these still won hands down. The faces still almost look brand new after a year, unlike Callaway's where after 2 rounds they look like they're a couple of years old.

Guys, C16's are also made by Titleist. CF16's are Callaway. There is a lot of confusion in this thread.

No not really, I know my C16's are Titleist and my Apex's are Callaway's. Sorry if I forgot to put the "F" behind the C on my post about comparing my "Titleist" C16's to my Callaway CF16 Apex combo set.
