The 2nd of three new events on the schedule this year. 'Not sure what to expect. At least we get three hours of coverage each day, instead of the two hours last week. This includes live coverage on Friday and Saturday, although many of us will be at work (in the U.S.).

 

It looks like a traditional links layout, so I'll go out on a limb and pick Ariya for the win. She's been struggling lately, but a firm fast course should suit her driving iron just fine. I wouldn't be surprised to see Catriona Matthew near the top of the leaderboard.

Correct. What's new is that it's jointly sanctioned by the LET and the LPGA--first time for the latter.

It's a puzzler. Hard to pick anyone this season. I'm thinking that this is a different kind of event - in the UK for once - and may bring out something different in some players. I'm going to stick my neck out and be curious about Lydia Ko doing well here. It's a challenge she might respond to.

I'm a member at Dundonald and its currently playing soft and long. The forecast also is for rain all week. Very tough greens to read as there are so many subtle breaks and borrows that frustrated the pampered mens tour last week at the Scottish Open.

 

A good solid player who can accept wind and rain will be the champion this week, I'd be looking at one of the European based players.

Only 25 players under par at this point. The course is definitely playing tough, which makes Cristie's and Karrie's -6 rounds look so much better. Sei Young is also going low, currently -5 after 15.

 

I can't recall a tournament that had so many rounds in the 80's.

Clicked on the 16 or so girls who have rounds posted in the 80's and over half of them don't even have a picture. It's obviously not exactly the strongest field as only 25 of the top 50 in the Rolex Rankings are playing.

Well, yes, but... If you're going to head across the pond early to acclimate to the time, weather, what-have-you, playing this tourney would seem to be the best way to go about that.

Not if it means playing your 4th in a row at the British Open next week. Maybe a few practice rounds, but not 6 tournament rounds.
