I suspect that's closer to the truth. Europe rules alternating shot. A much more popular format there than here, so we don't have the experience.

Sort of. They average one point more per year than the US team. Overall they are up 8 points in the 8 times playing with the 28 point format. Started in 2002.

Hopefully it won't come to fruition but I think Euros will win and win big.

Edit: Well, with Pettersen out now due to injury, I think a lot of fire will be gone from them. Advantage US now, but you never know, just have an odd feeling about this year and the US team.

Fear not mon ami (I am feeling European this week), Matthew has been in a lot of these things and has a very decent record. Most of the American squad should fear her somewhat. Also I feel that Charley Hull can spiritually lead this team to victory. She's always been good in these things, and has come a long way since the last cup--she is an LPGA champion, and a woman now.
