$30 worth Jolt Technology from Bushnell V2 Tour to V3 Tour?

Looking at the Bushnell V2 and V3 units. Both are used and both about the same condition, the V2 maybe a little better. Looking to spend as little money as possible. For those of you that have had both or used both, is it worth the $30 upcharge from the V2 to the V3. The V2 is $140, the V3 $170. I don't care about slope.

I have countless review and opinions re: love it to it eats batteries (V3).

I don't know about eating batteries, I have the V4 and the jolt is a nice confirmation that I have the flag.

No issues with batteries. I'm on year 3 with the same battery. And I also like the Jolt for the same reason.

If my memory is correct the V2 was the model that went through batteries. When you tapped the button the display stated on for about 30 seconds. The V3 had some updated electronics and the display only stayed in for about 5-10 seconds for much better battery life. I currently have a V4 that's still on the original battery and I play at least twice a week.

You'll like it. I picked up a V3 when they came out and couldn't figure out how to turn the Jolt off, so I left it on the first round out. After that round, I love the feature.

Instead of looking at the number and looking to see if it got a pin lock, you see the number and feel the vibration. I thought I'd hate it, but I love it.

Total left field opinion here. I just bought a V3 as my first range finder. I thought the Jolt function didn't work because previous owner didn't have it on. I found myself OCD taking 3 or 4 readings without Jolt. I figured out how to turn it on during #10 and I felt much more at ease that I had the flag for the rest of the round.

Jolt won me over!

Your memory is likely correct. Pretty sure I have the v2...play about 50 rounds a year, mostly in the summer, and think I go through 2-3 batteries a year. I really like my range finder, but sounds like v3+ is worth the upgrade.

CR2 batteries can be found for the cheap on Amazon. I usually get a 10 pack for something in the 25-$30 range.

I have the v3 and leave jolt off because it burns through batteries noticeably faster. I play every day and with jolt on I'd replace the battery every month or two and with it off it lasts twice as long. I've never really needed the jolt to tell me whether I'm getting the pin or something behind it anyway.
