Harvey affected golf courses

I am curious about many of the courses I've played along the Texas gulf coast and Houston as to the result of Harvey's rain dump. My sympathies are with anyone affected but I'm curious what is going on with some courses like:

 

Palmilla Dunes near Port A.

 

Bluejack

 

Walden

 

Columbia Lakes

 

River Ridge

The Brazos river is cresting tomorrow. So Columbia Lakes may get flooded. There may have been evacuations in the West Columbia community. May not be anyone available to talk about the the golf course. Don't know about the others but there are a number of courses in the Houston area that were flooded.

I was told palmilla course is fine after debris cleanup and drainage. It's just a matter of when people get back to living there and can staff it to open again

The big 3 of Houston all sit on Buffalo Bayou, I heard Lakeside got it the worst. HCC had done some work on the Bayou but I heard they, along with ROCC had significant course damage.

The wilderness down in Lake Jackson was flooded as well.

River Ridge under water and I fear it may not reopen.

 

They were operating with minimum grounds crew before Harvey - no longer mowing areas off the line of play.

I just talked about R Ridge with some friends who had played there in the past...sorry to hear. That was a really, really good daily fee 27.

Turns out Columbia Lakes did not flood but as of this week they closed the course due to lack of funds.

River Ridge certainly sits in a vulnerable spot; it would not surprise me at all if they fail to return from this. (FWIW, I think RR is overrated compared to other daily-fee tracks around Houston.)

 

According to their website, The Wilderness in Lake Jackson is closed for cleanup efforts but will reopen when these are complete. And good thing, considering this is one of the finest layouts in the state! The 70-yard plateaued green on the par-5 7th and the incredible Biarritz 16th are stunners you'll remember forever.

 

Next, I know River Pointe sits in a vulnerable spot on the Brazos River. I would guess they spent quite a bit of time under water, but since they haven't updated their website, I don't know what the status is here.

 

Finally, I'd also love to know what's up with the courses down I-45 South; places like Timberwood, Clear Creek, Beacon Lakes, etc. Seems like this area always floods badly, so I imagine it's probably not business-as-usual at any of these tracks.

I wouldn't ever worry about river ridge being able to return. It'll be a nice tax right off for the owner this year.

Walden on Lake Conroe made it through fine. It was off the path two days after the rain stopped.

Northgate got 4 feet in the clubhouse. There are 16 holes open, with the other two opening back up soon.

Reopened for a few weeks but shut down for good just before Thanksgiving. Has been mentioned on a few other threads. Pity.

My local course, Kingwood Cove has closed and are up for sale. Hopefully some investors buy it and open it back up again but the land could end up being developed into more burbs.

Each of the Pearland tracks I typically play did fine after the storm. This includes Clear Creek, Southwyk, and Pearland CC. The courses were fairly damp but I played Clear Creek soon after the storm with no issues. The bunkers were completely muck, but that was to be expected. Other than that I was surprised and glad there wasn't any more severe damage.

I've not played either Beacon or Timber Creek, but they are both in good shape.
