2015, Choi won the World Junior Girls Championship.

2016 Choi won the 2016 Canadian Women's Amateur and was low amateur at the 2016 U.S. Women's Open.

2017 won the Australian Women's Amateur, finished second at the 2017 U.S. Women's Open, and turns pro.

 

Opinions? She's rising fast.......

'Definitely looks like the real deal. We'll probably see her on the LPGA Tour in 2019 after spending next season on the KLPGA.

I'm assuming that she's done far more than what you have listed in order to be in the Rolex top 20.

She is a kid still, will give her the benefit of the doubt. You have to like a youngster like that firing at pins in the final round of a major.

She is a kid still, will give her the benefit of the doubt. You have to like a youngster like that firing at pins in the final round of a major.

Indeed - can anyone fill us in on her recent tournaments?

 

She has two wins this year on the KLPGA as an amateur, the ChoJung Sparkling Water Yongpyong Resort Open in late June, and the Bogner-MBN Ladies Open in mid-August. With the U.S. Open wedged in between, she has a 1st, 2nd, and 1st in her last 3 starts. Yow.

 

Prior to that she finished T4 at the KLPGA Kia Motors The 31st Korea Womens Open Golf Championship in Mid-June. The week prior to that she finished out of the top 20 at the JLPGA Suntory Ladies Open, but finished T2 at the KLPGA E1 Charity Open two weeks before that event.

 

In May she was a member of the winning Korean team at the 2017 Queen Sirikit Cup (Korea vs. China vs. Japan vs. Thailand).

 

In April she finished T30 at the LPGA Lotte, and T7 at the LPGA ISPA Handa in February.

 

In all, quite a spectacular year.

Well, given that she bounced back and won her next tournament after the U.S. Open, I'd say she got over the shot fairly quickly.
