12 has that trap that guards the right side landing area from the tee and bends that way as well. Nowhere to miss left either. Sneaky hole, have had my problems on it. I remember being paired up once with a guy that used a driver to punch out of the trees on that hole.

Played in a scramble yesterday at Twin Bridges in Danville. Nice layout, good conditions and friendly staff. I look forward to playing it again some day.

#14 at Prairie View falls in both categories of the hole that gives me difficulty and one of the toughest holes in the state. The hole is dead straight but with trees on both sides, it just plays games with you. No matter how good of drive you think you had, it still always feels like you have a long second shot into the green. If you play from the tips, good luck.

The second hole at royal hylands is one of those holes that has always given me problems. I don’t know generally have a ton of problem off the tee, but that second shot is a nightmare. The green is elevated, and I always end up in the sand. I’ve been short in the creek and long with a scary chip shot. I’ve been blessed enough to park it a few times, but I still haven’t birdied it to this day.

Several of us played harbor links in liberty yesterday, and it was a fantastic course in solid shape. It was a bit gimmicky, but pretty much up to standards for PB Dye. I’d recommend folks check it out. It ate my lunch with a smooth 109, so I can’t imagine playing worse the next time around.

Rob the 1st and 2nd holes are tough starting holes at RH. I have started 2-3 over right off the get go..many times...lol. One isn't crazy other than it's the first hole and a par 5. The 2nd is a placement hole for me..kind of a take my medicine hole and don't try and get greedy with my drive, which leaves a fairly long second into the green.

Enjoyed Harbor Links and it was in about as good of shape as I remember. Was happy with the first 18, but the second one ate me up and John and Sean got all their money back and then some...lol. First time I did 36 this year and I've got to say I must be out of golf shape..kind of wore down. I do enjoy that course..it has some great visuals and unique holes. Had a blast!

Yeah, I was tired Wed night and was still feeling the effects yesterday. Loved Harbor Links and was pleasantly surprised at the condition.

Fun foursome every time.

Son and I played Brickyard Crossing, yesterday. First time for me. Played really well with a 79 from the whites. Hope to get back there ASAP for another shot at #18.

Still think a few of the holes were gimmicky, but the company made up for it at Harbor Links. Have to work on the yips - really think it's mental more than anything.

Planning to play as much as possible to burn though these group golf deals I bought before they expire at the end of the month. Including Purdue next week. Let me know if anyone wants to get out sometime.

> Played River Glen today. Ok shape for this time of year. They cleared out some trees along the river. But they also flipped the 9's which I thought was a curious move. The scorecard and cart book are still from the layout the way it has been the last few years since I moved here, but the signage suggests the flip with new tee markers. It makes the new 17-18 (old 8-9) arguably the toughest finishing 2 holes around here. But the way the old 15-18 (now 6-9) are in the neighborhood and so different from the other holes it just feels more natural to finish on them, even if the old 18 (now 9) is a ho-hum par 4. Was nice that it would dump you right in the parking lot too. Now I guess you have to pass the clubhouse at the turn and on the way to the car - more chances to stop in for food/drink.

>

> Also who bought new hybrids and played 31 holes with them before realizing there were stickers on the face of the clubs? That would be me. Still hit them well with the stickers.

I played there mid may, first off. I was in indy for a wedding at prairie view. Thought about playing there, but that's too much money for what looks like a 5 hour round of golf all day.

It bothers me that I don't remember ever playing Killbuck GC. Is that weird?

Wish I would have started plotting, 40 years ago, all the courses I've ever played in Indiana. Would be a ton that are now closed.

Killbuck was GM's course back in the day apparently. Its wasn't in Anderson, but was just North of it off Rangeline. I found it by accident driving home the back way from Muncie a few years ago, and it didn't even have a webpage at that point (Had a FB page). It was the best of the public courses in/near Anderson IMO, and had a few challenging holes. Greens were pretty tough - not quite back 9 at Hylands slope/tilt, but in that ballpark.

I gave Edgewood a shot today since I was there - tight old course with tiny greens - wasn't awful for the price tag, better than Grandview or Meadowbrook.

I sat down a few months ago and tried to think of every course I've played. Edgewood is the 82nd I've played in Indiana (372nd that I can remember - I'm sure there's at least a handful more from when I was a kid or not sober while playing).

Tues - Attended the US Senior Open at the ND Warren Course. GREAT shape, of course. David Tom's much smaller than imagined. Seniors are in much better shape than TV portrays. Stricker was chipping in the practice area and BACKING BALLS UP FROM 20 YARDS AWAY.

Then played Morris Park in SB which is always in great shape.

Wed - Sultans Run GC in Jasper. Despite the recent rains, it's in VERY good condition. Great course and staff.

Thurs - Fendrich GC, a muni in Evansville. 5 or 6 holes were closed due to recent flooding, which was a drag. Unfortunately, it will most likely be in bad shape for a while. By the way, well done snack bar: Patty's Sand Trap. Patty's great and KNOWS how to treat customers. I hope she can hang in there during this difficult time.

That pretty much covers the length of the state!! Impressive...lol..you are an inspiration to middle aged golfers everywhere!

Will have to check out the Senior Open on TV. Kind of forgot it was at ND.

Sadly the weather Memorial Day weekend didn’t cooperate so I didn’t end up going. The entire weekend would have been a washout, plus with how much it was raining earlier in the week, every course would have been soaked

Had lunch at Ainsley's Cafe by Harbor Links, today. Italian beef samich was very good.

Course still looks FANTASTIC.

Drove past Hartley Hills in Hagerstown for the 101st time. I still wanna play that course... if Paul ever invites us.

This is an open invite to Hartley Hills!! Will happily drive the 3 1/2 minutes and meet there..lol. Do remember it is 9 holes that have different tee markers for second time around. Not a bad course either.

No golf today...pool shopping with the kid. lol. Playing Maplewood Friday at 11:15 just two of us, if anybody wants to play in crowded mess Friday!
