Played the fort today first time this season, fun layout but pace of play is huge problem there. 5+ hour round on A Tuesday afternoon in September is something I can’t imagine happening anywhere else in town. Historically always been the slowest rounds in the city I’ve played.

Scramble at Swan Lake in Plymouth yesterday. -15. -17 won.

Greens were sooooooo good. Verticut, smooth, true. Rest of course and facility was in great shape. Staff's outstanding.

Keep doing what you're doing, SL.

Loved Swan Lake when we went up there in June for the Stay & Play. Has absolutely everything you need.

Have a Dr. appointment with my son 10:30 in Indy that day. If you end up somewhere in the afternoon I might be able to swing it. Otherwise doubtful..erh...

Groupgolfer has Purdue again for $39.... got my 4 vouchers!

On another note, HH and I played Hickory Stick today. Never seen a clusterfudge like it before. They had an outing shotgun start at 930 that arrived with more players than expected, then accepted tee times right after. The outing took up a little more than 1/2 the course, so they send us/others before us out to 14 to get in front of the outing, and told us it would be clear from there until we ran into the back of the outing. Well, someone forgot to relay information while we were out there and started sending groups off 1 in the mean time. So by the time we go 18 to 1 there are a couple groups waiting to start. We get the wave around them from a starter who had no idea why we started where we did, but then get paired up with a 2 who was waiting to start. By the 3rd tee we were 4 groups deep on the tee. Took almost 90 min to play 5 holes before it opened up a little and we jumped a group at the 9-10 turn. Horrible management though, should've warned us when making the tee time and blocked out more times and had someone out there to kick things along.

The legends down here in Franklin is doing the legacy membership again. I got the email this morning and rushed over to become the latest member of the course. $198 bucks for unlimited greens fees for 2 years is a screaming deal.

A couple of us were trying to figure out some rankings of courses, so since I have a list of courses Ive played I ranked the 90 courses in Indiana I played here:

[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15syiDDZrjMDwjTz43T2VjYCr0v8lp3STXUBSpPJNTSM/edit?usp=sharing](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15syiDDZrjMDwjTz43T2VjYCr0v8lp3STXUBSpPJNTSM/edit?usp=sharing "https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15syiDDZrjMDwjTz43T2VjYCr0v8lp3STXUBSpPJNTSM/edit?usp=sharing")

I gave a little comment on each, and you can read more detail reviews I left for most on Golf Advisor. I think about layout and conditions first, then value, then if it was slow. I don't consider clubhouse or anything like that. The ones in the middle are kind of lumped together. Let me know if you agree/disagree.

Should note these are primarily public courses, and I'm still missing a few of the "bigger" publics, like Dye at French Lick, Champions Point since I haven't played them.

Great spreadsheet. The biggest change I could see would be that Ironwood has made a great turnaround with a new superintendent 2.5 yrs ago. He told me that when he took over that 60% of the sprinkler heads on the course didn't work. It took him a year to get it all back to being functional. Lots of other improvements and agronomy practices have been implemented. The court is really starting to shine now. There is still some ongoing work, but I would say it is at least a Tier 3 now, and may be able to climb to a Tier 2 in another year or so. It has always been a pretty good and challenging layout, so I'd encourage you to go and try it again soon (although not right now as they just aerated their greens early this week). I live close by, so I'm really happy to see the progress, not to mention the new and very large short game area they are growing in now.

Thank you so much for putting this together Sean! I know we’ve talked about a sort of master list for 3 years now. Well thought out and well put together.

I will continue to praise royal hylands such a great track and the staff is the best anywhere in the state!

Played Kampen yesterday and it was in fantastic condition. Trying to navigate a new course and the wind made it pretty tough (playing on a rain check so I'd only played the first 5 holes before). Glad I played from the golds.

Lots of fun yesterday. If we wanted to do it again before the time change, most flexible chance for me would be Tuesday the 29th - could go wherever whenever that day.

Could sneak out after class the next couple Fridays again as well in the Muncie area. Maybe Cardinal Hills or Tri Co or somewhere like that.

First hole starts with 5 skins!

Shout to the legends golf course. Played it 4 or 5 times this week as a new legacy member. Course is in solid shape especially for October. Greens are rolling well, and the par 3 dye course is quite bit of fun. 45 holes and great course to walk. If anyone that is on the fence about joining I’d jump on it.

4 that come to mind are shortish par 4's...

Brickyard is not too difficult. Relatively flat green. Rather wide fairway. Light on hazards.

Purgatory is the 18 handicap hole there. Wide fairway with a hybrid or iron off the tee leaves a wedge if you don't have the power to go for it (I'm in that category). Even from the sand off the tee it's not too tough.

Plum is another hybrid/wedge kind of par 4. Just don't block it right.

Tri County isn't close to Indy, but it's about as mundane as you can get. 330ish, straight, can miss for miles either way, large green.
