MP4 vs. MP18 blades

I own the MP4s. Hands down, the best set of blades I ever hit. I have hit tens of dozens of balls with the MP18s, and it doesn't feel the same as the 4s. I believe the MP4s are in a league of their own (not just in feel, but in looks, performance, etc.)

To me the 18 def don’t feel as soft as the 4 (68 the softest in my opinion). Performance wise I can’t deny how easy and effortless the 18 are to swing. And the short irons are the best looking the MP line has ever produced. So total package I would say goes to the 18. I do wish they were chrome but the finish does blend well with my T7 wedges. For what’s its worth I’m playing the C Taper Lite shaft and I also think that shaft takes away from feel. I would love to hit a modus or DG in the 18 head to see if that magical Mizzy feel is hidden inside there somewhere. But the C Taper Lite shaft fits me perfect so I think I can get over what little feel is lost.

DG does make a huge different in feel... I'm spinning my MP5 too much but I'm reluctant to put the set of PX I have in them because the feel is so good. I think I'll try to sniff out a set of TI X100 or S400 instead. DG feel and flight is just so perfect.

I would say it’s a horse race between the 4s and 18s on looks, but it’s subjective.

 

The 4s had a more curvature traditional look and the 18s are more modern, squarer and edgy look.

 

18s won out on scoring irons and PW.

 

Having own both, I actually dump both but it’s a matter of personal taste regardless. I found something better.

 

With regards to the S400, it’s similar to the S300 118 grams. It’s going to have more spin over the PX. I just got my net set of me MB yesterday with PX 6.0 being bias on Tour Issue 120s but the PX edge out on performance and feel.
