Sundre is in fantastic shape as always. Greens were somewhat disappointing. Very smooth but unbelievably slow, and incredibly non-receptive.

They are slower than usual as we just aerated and top dressed on Tuesday. We are hoping within the next week to 10 days that they are sped up to our standard.

I played it last year, it's fun like Beaver Dam.

It was in pretty good shape for how new it is. Greens are very small. If you score well there you've had a good ballstriking round.

Course is fairly flat. They had to negotiate/agree to some odd deal with SRD for the water that's on the course. Most of the hazards are fenced off and you aren't allowed to go in them to fetch your ball. The rangers watch them like hawks and if you cross the fence you get it s***.

HP micropunched on desert forsure, not sure about the other nines, non issue as I played later that day and could barely tell, probably a good thing as everything was pretty firm. Overheard that there may have been an issue with the irrigation too, so this weekend rain will be nice for that after this heat.

I haven't played the Desert 9 in years. Hoping to get back to HP later this year.

Hamptons tomorrow and Sirocco on Saturday.

1st time at Hamptons so have no idea what to expect.

Trying to figure out what to hit on the 10th tee at Sirocco. That hole always kills me. I'm happy with anything less than double.

Very cool. I didn't mind Beaver Dam the one time I played there. Aside from the brutal weather on the front 9.

I might have to give it a chance this year.
We have a reciprocal with Hamptons and I played it last year, interesting layout, some pretty good elevation for being in the city. I've heard mixed reviews on conditions this year but that was a little earlier in the season.

I worked at Mayfair for about 15 years. It is really nice, best in Edmonton in my opinion (with all due respect to the Windermere, which I also worked at and love). Always in great shape, some of the best greens around. Nice big trees, river valley setting, fairway bunkers. It is a treat to play if you can get on somehow.

Hamptons was in really good shape today. We waited out the rain and played a sub 4 hour round in Cart Path Only conditions.

A couple bumpy greens, but the fairways were immaculate. Didn't play from the bunkers as much as my playing companions, but the couple I was in had lots of nice sand.

Not a huge fan of the layout, reminded me of the front 9 on the Ridge course at Country Hills but with more blind tee shots. Very punishing for the first time player.
I agree with your layout synopsis, when I played last year it was blowing like 40 clicks, 7 i think that par 5 with the water was straight downwind, there was pretty much no where to land your drive. Glad to here its in good shape.

Sirocco today. They kicked everyone off the course on the back nine due to wet conditions. Was able to play 10 holes.

Greens are super slow. They need some heat and some TLC from the super. Rest of the course was immaculate as always.

Anyone here going to the Mid at Sundre in a couple weeks? Have a few friends going and they've already played practice rounds. Heard great things about the greens. True they'll run 11ish for the tournament?
When I played the CN Western Future links there 3 or 4 years ago now I guess they were around that maybe a hair quicker even.

Played Northern Bear and Coal Creek today.

Northern Bear was ok, being so hot lately and no rain has really dried out the course. They said there running out of there water reserve and may have to buy water soon from the city. Greens were good and responsive.

Coal Creek, dead calm, no wind, which I guess happens rarely there. First time playing, really enjoyed my round, course still needs a little more growth, rain will help to, getting crusty in some spots. Black sand bunkers are a bit different. Was only in one. Greens were lightning quick. Rolled true and we're still responsive.

2 rounds in the 32+ weather was a lil too much, we were hurting by holes 30-31. Tired, sore and sun burnt.

Playing the Quarry tomorrow then Trestle Creek Monday then back to GP.

The mid is at Coyote Creek. Not Sundre Golf Club. Coyote's greens will be in great shape for you guys. If you have any spare time come on up the hill and see us at SGC

I'm heading up there. I can't wait. It's short and wide open with great greens. Perfect for me! LOL

I wet the bed the last day last year and finished 5th. I'm wanting revenge this year!

Played 27 at The Quarry today, fantastic course and in mint shape. Very impressed. Will definitely come back. Scenic, green rolled true and pace of play on a Sunday was very good. Did 27 in just under 6 hours and the parking lot seemed full.
