The continue to raise the price in Grande Prairie at the Country Club. They also are looking to add a surcharge to members to redo their aging infrastructure when they are making large profits in a recessed market. See how they make out after this year!

 

Personally know a bunch of long term members dropping out. Can't please everyone. Needs to be done

 

I agree it has to be done I am just not a fan of how they are financing it. They will need new greens in the coming years as well.

Yup, got a tee time for Friday lined up. My first round last year March 29th, which was crazy early. March 11th is just pure lunacy in Calgary. Not expecting much out of my round, but it will be much better than hitting off mat.

Masters a few years ago was opening day.bunkers were full of snow.we played 18 and watched back nine at the clubhouse

One course I'd like to play is innisfail.there are a few gems off the beaten path water valley being one of my favs,

I could only imagine what the fees would be if it were in the city limits of Calgary

Probably either the quarry or northern bear. But for a cheap round legends is pretty good.

No, Legends is not pretty good unless you habitually like 5 hour rounds and plenty of typical slow-playing groups that are also friends with ownership and will not speed up no matter what. I will stay clear of any remarks that will get me trouble, but also the ton of traffic the course gets makes for very tough playing conditions.

I work shift work so I rarely play on weekends, Friday afternoons are bad there but I've never found it bad Monday to Thursday.

Eagle Rock range by Beaumont and Long Shotz by Sherwwod Park opened today and will be open Saturday and Sunday.

Went last two days to eagle rock range, probably quite a bit less of a wait then MW, nice to be swinging again but just made the itch to get on the course worse lol

Cheapo Joe's still around on the south side? Couldn't afford to golf when at school but always made it out to the range and showed school ID for cheap range balls.

Blue Devil was in ok shape. The greens were recently top dressed so there's quite a bit of sand on the greens. The fairways were firm and hard, so you could put a couple of monster drives out there. The green fee + cart fee was overpriced as per usual. I think it came out to nearly $100 bucks. But chipping in for eagle on the 18th(the 9th hole, started on 10) made paying $100 a easier pill to swallow.
