When Stenson does it he is a badass viking. Ariya does the exact same and is labeled as weak and scared. Please explain.

 

For the record, I have never said that Ariya is weak and scared nor have I ever said Stenson is a badass viking.

 

Here's where I see the difference between the two. Ariya could absolutely dominate the LPGA if she could hit her driver with any consistency but the same can't be said for Stenson.

Not offended at all...just simply replying to your post with my observations/opinion.

 

I agree that club length and less loft make for more wayward shots.

I butt trimmed about 5/8" off my Jetspeed driver shaft and RBZ Stage 2 3HL....I've dumped the Jetspeed shaft (lousy stock shaft and too light for me) for a Speeder Evolution shaft a friend gave me and I still choke down about 1/2" on the shortened RBZ FW.

 

I have also lofted up my 10.5* Jetspeed to 12*

I SMH when any world class premier pro isn't comfortable hitting a driver with all of their superior golf skills

And

their ability to demo many different combos of shafts/heads to get a well suited/fitted customized driver that could be built for them.

When I see a pro put on a stupid fake smile as her pre-shot routine to reduce the stress....it indicates to me....mentally soft.

 

When Yani started to go into her slump,,,she tried to be less stressed on the course and have more fun.

In 2012, I saw her employ this new outlook in between the ropes...Yani was talking more than she normally would with Laura Diaz...this new methodology hasn't worked out for Yani in the past 6 years among others issues with her game.

And yet it does seem to be working for Ariya. Every player putts the 14 clubs in their bag that helps them score their best. You must have been doubly thrilled when Phil played with two drivers in the bag? If driver is good for your bag then keep playing it. I've never understood someone typing in a forum how an elite athlete is "weak minded".

Some players hit long irons some hit hybrids. Some have a bag full of fairway woods and others carry extra wedges.

 

I know this is wrx but why the fascination with how a player chooses their tools? Perhaps more precisely how exactly do you determine that she could dominate if only she would hit driver? Clearly she has determined that whatever club she carries rather than driver gains her more strokes than a driver would.
