Odyssey's new putter shaft and EXO #7

I like the top line as opposed to the three dots on their current #7 Exo. I also think the Exo face insert is much better than the microhinge on their normal putters. That microhinge insert is going to be a distant memory in a couple years.

 

+1. EXO insert is good by me. I have tested it many times in the various heads and I am a fan of its feel, sound and performance. Like a faster-rolling version of the old white hot insert — the Exo insert definitely gets it rolling. Firmer than microhinge — feels totally different to me — and one I wish Odyssey would put in the Jailbird mini and Marxman.

I guess that’s why there’s so many putters to choose from. I love the existing EXO 7s . For me, it most recently replaced a TM Spider Tour S which I really liked and putted amazingly well for me, but only within 10 feet. The EXO changed that. 6 footers are damn near a “gimme”, and last week I made 2 that we’re 27 & 42 feet. I’m more comfortable over the EXO, than any other putter I’ve ever owned. That includes older and newer Scotty’s, Betti’s and a 55 gallon barrel full of other putters.

I tried the Red 7s next to the EXO 7s again last night. The Red 7s is perfect in size and set up and, call me crazy, I liked the insert better than the EXO.

 

Some players do. Nothing wrong with the microhinge insert. Tons of pros using it. I like it. I prefer the Exo but could play the microhinge no problem. I was draining putts in a tryout of the Jailbird Mini. Odyssey putters put a nice roll on the ball whichever way you go.

I don't know anything for sure, but I would be shocked if these do not make their way to retail eventually.

Not sure about the one pictured but there is an EXO #7 Mini coming in the early months or 2019.

Anyone know if they plan to release a 2 ball with the New insert?
