Like everyone else, I prefer the overall look of this new model vs. the other EXO models that I have seen.

 

That being said, and knowing of Odyssey's tendency to be confusing with their nomenclature, I am wondering if this is a new head shape (the "Seven") or if this is replacing the existing #7 head in the EXO line.

I just don't like the insert. Don't like the feel or even just the look of it. Bring back the Metal-X milled face or ProX or something.

Not a Scotty truther by any means, but you realize this looks exactly like the SC X7M which has a milled metal insert. While this literally has a plastic one. Maybe you’re trolling.

Not trolling... Just tired of his lack of creativity. And if he would just pay attention to this site and any other golf related sites, he would know what the public is looking for.

 

How about just a milled putter face? Why ruin the putter with a plastic insert, or a gaudy paint scheme??!

 

The Fast Back, the Button Back, the NP and NP2 (short and long neck), the JT Futura,Dufners X5, the 009,the Tour Rat, and of his SSS or GSS line... THESE are absolutely beautiful putters and I think are some of the best putters ever made.

 

I just truly think he's running out of ideas, and instead of throwing mud at the wall in seeing if it sticks, he should focus on either what the public is really asking for or slight variations of what he knows work.

That was going to be my guess too. The extra weight of the wings and back bar should push the stock head weight closer to 370G or so.

I know this is an oversimplification, but the graphite/steel construction gives it more stability and lighter weight than the traditional steel shaft. That weight savings can then be used in the head or grip area to create better balance and forgiveness

This really isn’t anything new. It’s simply moving the balance point in a putter shaft that has been done before. Some like it others don’t. Kudos to Odyssey for thinking outside of just their putter heads though!

Yes, you exactly right. But, as always there are different ways to “bake the cake”. Take it for what it’s worth but I heard that everyone that has used it has seen improvement. Time will tell.

I am. I do work for Callaway so I have an admitted bias. However, I could play any putter in our line, and have at some point, as putting has never been a strong suit. Currently playing the EXO 7s, and I have never putted so well. Every putt starts on line now. My playing partners are actually accusing me of practicing(against my religion).

The difference was night and day for me. Obviously, if I were going to overly promote a putter, it would be a Toulon(more money) but I am a big believer in the EXO system.

I like the top line as opposed to the three dots on their current #7 Exo. I also think the Exo face insert is much better than the microhinge on their normal putters. That microhinge insert is going to be a distant memory in a couple years.
