team varietal asian took down team definitely caucasian today at hivemore. Thanks to big poppa eagle for orchestrating the turkey shootout on his new home turf.

 

Woodmore is a great track and has a variety of neat holes, with nothing forced and lots of options. the tee shot on #15 is one of the coolest, if not the coolest in the area, especially from one of the two back tees. certainly one of the best in the county over there, and much superior from public-turned-private oak creek (which is still a great track - so a testament to woodmore).

 

Full disclosure. I just joined Woodmore after working with Eagle. I’m very happy with my purchase.

 

As far as the match, I was one of the problems for team Caucasian for sure. Sorry to the team. I will try better next time.

 

Much much more excited for the next year or so to come. Never had full access to a club. Even got approval from Mrs. Draw via a full tour of the club. Here’s to some better golf in 2019!

Congrats HBD, that is awesome, it will change your life. And I dont think thats too much of an exaggeration. Its so great to have regular leagues/games to be involved in. This time of year though is probably my favorite. Course empties out, its just excellent to go out and work on whatever you want to work on.

Found an unopened still in the plastic box bottle of “Old Weller Original 107 Barrel Proof” at my grandparents house this morning. It’s been in their liquor cabinet since the 60’s probably. Is there any place around MD that buys vintage bottles like this that you know of? Going to do some Googling later but figured you guys would be a good source of info

Pretty tough to answer without knowing specifics of the bottle - stuff like that can vary so much from year to year and the value may depend on the serial #, condition of the label/bottle etc. Its kind of like Ping with a lot of that really old stuff, someone somewhere can give you the exact information based on the serial number of the bottle.

 

I've bought a bunch of higher end bottles online but never from a local store, mostly because the states control so much of that these days. I never found any stores local that bought stuff like that.

 

Bottlespot is a great site to see values of specific bottles/years and also get a feel for what current sales have been. Since the market on bottles like this can vary so widely, you can see what is actually being paid currently for stuff in this range. You can find the exact year/line/bottle and it will show you who has them for sale, how much they are asking and how much people have actually paid recently for that exact bottle. Its a great resource IMO.

 

Facebook has a lot of private bourbon/scotch groups you can join where people are buying and selling some great hard to find stuff. Really good place to find some information. Might be hard to sell something really high end as a new member - picture a brand new WRX/BST member trying to sell a Trackman 4 - but not impossible if there is someone who really wants it.

 

Shipping bottles is a pain in the butt, I wont lie. Since its not exactly "legal" to ship booze person to person, if something happens, you end up out not only your bottle but you'll never be able to get insurance from the shipping company either. Its definitely a risk. There are specific holders/wraps I can recommend.

 

Best option IMO is to take pictures of the bottle/label/serial number and once you track down some values, see if you know anyone local that has a real problem spending too much money on scotch and bourbon. Next time you meet up with them at the course or the golf expo in February, make the trade. Just saying, if you know anyone like that....saves you on a lot of hassle...just saying....if you know anyone like that.

Sort of funny, but yesterday I had this craving for a big as$ caesar salad. My lady was hitting up the store so I told her to grab one of the caesar salad kits for me. It's not like me to want and crave a salad, but that mofo was awesome and I ate every bit of it for dinner last night.

 

Today there is a recall on Romaine lettuce as none of it is safe to eat because of a particularly dangerous type of E. coli contamination.

 

Now, I've done really well over the years dodging bullets at Chipotle, but we'll see about this one. Could be the jump start of a quick diet. Or nothing could happen. Either way, I've got an exciting sweat about the outcome over these next couple days. Work tomorrow, Thanksgiving Thursday, drive to Ohio Friday, and OSU/Xichigan game on Saturday. Ain't nobody got time for sitting on the john this week.

Quite a few bars in Ocean City are advertising their showing The Match. Pretty good idea for those guys trying to get away from the inlaws. I did lay $10 on Mickelson while I was in Vegas on this. Bet $10- pays out $26 if he wins. That's how much of an underdog MGM thinks he is. If you bet $10 on Woods it paid out $14. C'mon Lefty!
