Random question :

 

A few weeks ago, I had a screw in my tire. It went flat. Got it plugged.

 

That was UN-related to the other tire which had some tear in it and I got a used tire.

 

Anyway, the plugged tire is getting low and seems to have a slow leak. Was at 25 PSI, down from 40+ a few weeks ago.

 

Do you try to get the plug done again ($20) or just put on another used tire ($80)? What's your play?

 

Guess it depends on the location of the puncture. I had a puncture in one of my tires earlier in the year and just ended up having that tire, and the one opposite it, replaced.

 

Side note, stock GTI tires are trash. When it's time to replace all four I'm getting better tires. If I'm driving dangerously, I want any accidents to happen from my bad driving, not from bad tires.

new tires at costco FTW. they'll run a "buy 3 get the 4th free with zero installation" with free road hazard insurance. since i put it on the costco executive card that gets me cash back, my tires are basically free.

To be clear. . .when I got tires last put on, they were cheapies, but new.

 

When I got the ONE tire replaced a couple weeks ago, it was used.

 

I've never put four used tires on. The last time I got tires, one was flat, they were all old and for some reason I was in a hurry, on a Sunday and I just wanted to get the job done and they didn't have much in stock.

 

I've checked tire rack. I'll probably go through them when all of this comes to a head.

Pepperoni Pizza at Costco is $9.95 and you get roughly 4,300 calories. Best bang for your buck, calorie wise.
