Wash/Tampa Over 51.5

Dallas/Philly Under 43

New Orleans -4.5

That NYG/49er game looks interesting, but I know better than to bet against Nick Mullens.

The Under is pretty tempting in any game Buffalo is playing in, but I'll pass.

1-2 Ugh! I'm going back to fiercest mascots.

Tampa was 7-1 beating the O/U going into yesterday's game, and 51.5 points certainly didn't make me think twice. 19 freakin' points.

Philly at home and Dallas on the road were both 1-4 vs the O/U. I was feeling confident at halftime with the score 13-3. SMH

Thank goodness for Drew Brees!

Also glad I didn't take the under in the Buffalo game! They go 6 weeks without scoring more than 13 points, then hang a 41 on the Jets with their 3rd (or is it their 4th?) string QB!

16-11-3 overall

Not that they weren't a good pick before, but Oakland's Martavius Bryant was injured and expected to miss time and now reports that Jordy Nelson may retire today. So instead of Cooper/Crabtree that they had last year, their starting WRs may be Seth Roberts and Dwayne Harris. May have to start picking against them every week at this point, regardless of what points they're giving.

Which I guess is a good reason for me to include the bottom of the ATS standings. Picking against OAK has about as good a probability as picking KC even prior to losing both their WRs.

Okay, Week 10 is Here already! I will let the cat out of the bag. I am a Drew Brees fan and I always root for the Saints. I picked up Dez Bryant in my fantasy football league and had the heartbreak of the century two days later. He would have produced with Brees. He still ran a 4.57 40 and is still one of the best End Zone targets in the game. He was not washed up at 30. Andre Johnson peaked at 30. The Cowboys were sore they let DeMarco Murray go and signed Dez to a mega deal while Romo got blown up and left with too many injuries. In comes Dak and he was not a drop it into Bryant type of passer, much like the conservative Alex Smith we have here in DC. But Brees is a big difference maker with prolific receivers in the end zone and Dez is great at winning contested balls. it would have been a lock for the Saints to go deep in the playoffs. Now they have to sign some red zone guy like broken down Brandon Marshall or Kamar Aiken! Uggghhh! Giving the Points on the Road Saints -4.5 "Who Dat Who Dat gonna beat those Saints.?" Sorry Red Rifle it "ain't" you "dat gonna do it." Not without AJ Green. Alvin Kamara eats today! Chomp Chomp... tigers are a lean meat, Kamara runs lean and mean.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE! DEFENSE, DEFENSE! THAT IS WHAT THE REDSKINS NEED THIS WEEK!

The Redskins have a solid defense and should be able to handle the one-dimensional Buccaneers who can not run the ball.

The Redskins should be able to run even behind a makeshift Offensive line. Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis will help sustain drives and Kapri Bibbs will be the third-down pass-catching running back The Skins are hurting but I will still hold out hope they can win this on the road. Not brave enough to take the Skins though. Skins are to banged up but I can not bet against them. In honor of my good friend Touch who celebrated his birthday this week. Happy Birthday, Touch! Give me the under Redskins/Bucs 51.5

My Birthday present to Mr. Touch will be my next pick. I am taking Tommy Brady and his Patriots of Foxborough Mass. They travel to Tennessee and this game might be closer than most think but in honor of touch and his love for all things Brady I think the Patriots do just enough to cover the points on the road. However, I think Mariota is starting to turn his season around and might have a good game this week and will lean on ex Patriot, Dion Lewis, with short passes and look for Corey Davis who draws Gilmore who is a solid cover corner for the Patriots. I bet Belichick has a present for Butler of the Titans. Josh Gordon will have fun with Butler. The Titans have the worst uniforms in the NFL...Just saying. Vrabel vs Belichick, D Lewis vs J White. These are all very solid sides, but the main course will be how Belichick schemes to get Mariota to make some mistakes by trying to limit what he can do underneath with Dion Lewis on the short routes. Happy Birthday Again Mr. Touch. Taking the Patriots -6.5 on the road Ugghhhh!!

Overall 14-12-1BTW, I love Your meal and wine selections Mr. Touch. Except for the Alfredo, I will take the Linguini Cacio y Pepe LoL. Heavy cream gets me every time.

I had some Zuppi De Pesce that was to die for from Biba's here in GA this weekend! Mangia!!!

If the field is as bad as everyone is making it sound, I really hope they move it to LA. I'd rather concede and take the loss of a single game than lose a key player to injury.

*Update: game is officially moving back to LA, "per sources."

Det +6.5 ( Buy low sell high, bears slightly overvalued after two big wins over two bad teams and det off two not great loses, plus divisional game that is historically tight 5 of the last 6 decided by 4 points or less)

Oak +10 (81% of the tickets right now are on LAC, hold your nose take the two score home dogs and try not to vomit)

Jax +3

0-2-1 yuck

ATL -3.5

Den +7

Jax +5.5

Line movement on the monday nighter is interesting with the venue change, soft open at -1 and then looks like it jumped to -2.5 once it was being played in LA, sounds like most books are cancelling original tickets, and now it has crossed the 3 to -3.5 although it is soft (priced +100 to -105 at most books)

Knock It,

How are you doing this season overall in the attempt to beat the Sportsbooks?

Is it a standard year? Or are there a good many trend breakers popping up regularly?

Always appreciate you adding your pro prognosticator takes here.

I'm doing well, I think I'm up 16 units through NCAAF and NFL this year, I unfortunately broke my phone this weekend which has all my bet tracking (I use The Action Network app https://www.actionnetwork.com/app?_branch_match_id=591071014494427468, great overall sport update app plus you can track lines, input your bets for ytd tracking purposes, and they have a lot of good articles (some of which you have to subscribe to read I think its a couple bucks a month) and a couple decent podcast.) Anyways I'm using my little brothers phone until my new one comes so I can't give you my actual breakdown, and that number will likely come down with a couple lost futures though I do have a UGA SEC future at +1500 (bad line by the book so I'll atleast be able to hedge out on bama) and LAC to win the super bowl at a nice price.

Better year on NCAAF thus far which is helping but for NFL I think the key thing is not falling in love with what you saw last week, I do think that hurts me a bit in college because bad teams are actually bad but in the NFL they're all professionals so I think you can find value in selling high, say like the rams, but then again the chiefs are a top ATS team. I do try to stay away from trends because roster turnover is so high (ya I know I looked at trends in the det/chi and look where that got me.) I think it's less about beating the books and more so beating the market and making sure you get the best number available at the proper price (especially true in college were there tends to be much more line movement) but ya I don't care how good you are at capping if you constantly play bad numbers you'll end up on the wrong side more often than not which I think really impacts the casual bettor (which even though I try to sound sharp I probably am.)

As far as standard year points per game are up but books are adjusting and I think overs are 147-148-x.

I have been reflecting on rain, how it stops my day to day activities, and also catching up on some music documentaries over the last week or so. OK, that is a lie, I was in Paris this weekend and was watching Fox News (am I allowed to make that joke? If not let me know and I will delete it). Having been to a few Grateful Dead shows, and recently a Bob Weir show, I thought I should watch Long Strange Trip on Amazon, and now I have begun the Jimi Hendrix story. Both are quite interesting looks back on a mis-spent youth for me. Completely oblivious to the creative aspects, just listening to the music and enjoying it immensely, to this day actually. Another milestone as well, Neil Young turned 73 this past week, and his catalog of songs are unsurpassed by all but a few, if any really. But there is another week of football coming up, and I have to make a few selections, so here they are.

I am expecting Carolina to have a big day. Even on the road in the motor city. As Bob Seger crooned, it is time for Superman to "Turn the Page." After a long break, I expect the coach to have the offense running a little more smoothly than it did in Steeltown on Thursday night. I also expect the Lions to lay a big fat nothingburger as seems to be their MO on Sundays. I bet they look good during the week, but it just doesnt seem to matter. I think their new coach is a Belichick disciple, and that means he is probably an arrogant coach who is sucking the fumes of the successful coach, and that never works. Confidence has to be earned, and just being part of a machine doesn't mean you were the machine. Panthers and the points please.

I really dislike Philip Rivers. There is just something about him, but I just dont like the guy. He is the guy, and if you have ever played sports you know exactly who I am talking about, who absolutely dominates those who are lesser skilled. Put him in a seriously competitive game and I feel like he loses his cool and his ability to dominate. So he has tremendous skill, and the Broncos suck, so I see him just walking all over the hapless Denver team. If John Elway plays his cards right, he might be able to get the MT kid Osweiler back next season. Little known fact, Elway spent a little time in the Plata y Oro state as a child when his dad coached in MT, so this move makes more sense, its almost like a familial bond. Until Brock returns though, I am taking the Chargers and the points.

Lastly, let's go back to "being part of a machine doesn't mean you were the machine." Le'Veon didn't report. Apparently, the O-Line has been ranked as the best line in the NFL, and this fool thinks he made the line. After a season with what, 3 runs over 20 yards he decides to sit out to smoke weed and hang with Wiz Khalifa because he was "used to much." Well, heres an idea you selfish, disrespectful, jerk, I bet if your per yard carry were over 3.3 yards, and you actually ran further behind the best line in the NFL, you probably wouldn't have had so many touches. It's just a thought, but the math works out. If you ran 24 yards in one run, you wouldn't have had to carry the ball 7 times to get 24 yards. Apparently, James Conner has figured that out. Now, the Jags put a beatdown on the Steelers last year in the playoffs. I tried to watch while at the Golden Nugget, and frankly, by the time it was over I could barely see because like the game "Hi Bob" I decided to drink a beer for every Jaguar point scored during the game. Thank god for GPS so I could out of there. It just feels different this year, probably because it is a regular season game and the Steelers are much better during the regular season than the playoffs, but give me the Steelers and the points.

Has anyone else noticed Cowboys fans are embarrassing? On other social media sites, I never see NE Patriot fans, Steeler fans, Rams fans, etc. laud the greatness of a win. Then the Cowboys win, and these folks talk about it. It must be a sad day when the fourth win happens in November and the need to celebrate is just too much to overcome...

Vikings vs Bears. Vikings were seafaring raiders of foreign lands. Bears are large omnivorous mammals. Vikings probably had to fend off polar bears in the north country and weren't scared of anything. Grizzly bears never inhabited Chicago, so we're talking about donut eating, trash can tipping black bears. Advantage Vikings. Minn +3

Texans vs Redskins. Texans are simply anybody from Texas, like Beto O'Rourke :fie: . Hmmm, normally advantage Redskins... but, Texans outside of Austin are also descendants of tough, leather-faced, hard-as-nails cowboys. Only today they drive suburbans and own AR-15s instead of horses and Colt .45 "Peacemakers". Native Americans were resourceful, cunning, and able to live off the land even when faced with harsh conditions. Some tribes were fierce warriors and some were peace-loving. Today's Redskins are much the same - it's hard to tell if the Modocs or the Navajos will show up on Sunday. Advantage Texans. Houston -3

Chiefs vs Rams. Chiefs rose through the ranks to leadership positions by being the strongest, bravest, and smartest among their tribe, like Andy Reid... or not. Rams are male sheep that typically live on mountains. Rams have massive curled horns that they use for fighting each other when in persuit of mates. Collisions between rams can generate more than 800 lbs of force, but they would be thrown out of today's NFL for leading with the head. Native Americans killed sheep, ate them, and wore their hides as clothing. Advantage Chiefs. KC +2.5

Pretty savory post there man of the Chesapeake waters. I certainly enjoyed it.

Only one thing.

I don't have the stones to make it a pick of mine this week, but the Redskins will win this weekend at home. It will be one of the

minor upsets of week 11. Yet then again I dwell in the basement with the Huntsman and golfgirl, so double your wager on the Texans to cover folks!

I'm still feeling a Skins win though.

I will be taking the Under 49 in the Thursday game Seattle VS Green Bay in Seattle.

I think both teams will try and put less emphasis on Wilson and Rodgers to do it all, and we will see a Rashad Penny coming out party with Aaron Jones for Green Bay also getting more work on the ground.

Most of the passing will be short to intermediate with an occasional bomb to loosen up the run defenses. If Seattle can turn over Green Bay they win going away. If not the game should be close. 24- 20 Seattle.

But I will just take the UNDER 49

Your picks are giving points not getting... Early mernin bourbon is the best bourbon...Send some down to the cellar, along with a freshly rolled one...

Makes sense. GB averages the most YPC on the ground while SEA averages the most rushing yards per game. Unfortunately, I'm playing against A Jones in FFB, so hoping he at least stays out of the end zone.

Well, that is a true statement. That's why I don't gamble on sports, because i don't get the lingo. And someone was talking about soft money and the 100s and stuff, and i was befuddled.
