Tiger Woods 2019 Taylormade Irons...P7TW?

Recommended Posts

The lofts listed 3-PW are 21, 24, 27, 31, 35, 39, 43, 47

As other poster said P730 lofts

Offsets listed 3-PW are 2.3, 1.9, 1.9, 1.8, 1.4, 1.2, 1.3, .7

(all mm)

No it is not a typo 1.2 back up to 1.3 is what is published.. hard to fathom anyone could see .1 mm difference, maybe that is how his oven guy polished the offset and Tiger liked it.

3 iron with a PW 100 sounds like a work of art to me!

Driver: TaylorMade SIM MAX (10.5 degrees - set to 9.75 and 1.5 degrees open)

3-wood: TaylorMade SIM (15 degrees)

Shaft: Aldila Rogue 130 Black 70 TX (at 43" and tipped 1")

And this https://news.nike.com/news/pure-precision-nike-golf-unveils-vapor-pro-irons

Nike Golf club engineers kick-started the process for perfected weighting several years back. By analyzing the wear patterns on Woods’ irons – with an impact pattern centered to slightly toe-biased on the club face, but with a natural center of gravity closer to the heel of the club, Tiger and the club team collaborated and came up with what became a kept secret for several years

– the addition of tungsten plugs.

Nike Golf Master Modelmaker Mike Taylor added tungsten plugs to the toe of Woods’ irons to move the center of gravity away from the heel and locate it in the center of the face. The result: maximized precision and improved feel on both center and off-center strikes.

“Years back when we tested the parts with adjusted weighting, I immediately noticed a more balanced feel and more consistent performance,” said Woods. “Working with the club team to bring this concept to life was a great experience. I hit three or four shots with the Vapor Pro, and I knew right away – they sound and feel more solid, more balanced and even more consistent than the tungsten loaded traditional blades I have played for years.”

Im confused. Are we saying fully milled cast ? Forged and milled grind ? Or cast and milled grind ? Or forged and fully milled ? Who the heck is on first ???

Oh brother! Thats funny. You were reading my mind.

So many people dont even understand the different terminology and the variety of potential processes involved. The club could easily be a forged head that is finished via milling. If its a cast head thats finished via milling I cant imagine having the giant testicles needed to try and offer that Schite for $2000. All speculation at this point.

Hopefully no ones head explodes reading this thread.

Don’t shoot the messenger.. lol I’m simply passing the info I got from “josh” (TM CSR REP) he said 100% milled head. Obviously MT won’t be partaking in a retail TM product.. so to be clear those of you hoping to have something from Artisan stamped with TM that is not what you are getting..

Additionally josh said” We have not been given a spec sheet on them yet. I’m only delaying why I’ve been told in meetings.” So like mentioned above; we are all speculating at this point..

You’re missing my point.

A club can be “100% milled” out of a cast unfinished head or a forged unfinished head. The rep doesn’t really know what he’s talking about.

...and that would not be the first or the last time. I find quite often that when I call a CS rep They actually know shockingly little about golf clubs in general. It’s actually almost terrifying.

I understood what you were and are saying. I understand the the block of steel has to come from

I’ve got a few phone calls to make..

That's interesting, maybe explains the universal praise VR's get even though the design is rather rudimentary. Never heard of this being in the 681's but this is the first I heard of them in the Nike's. So there's that.

Yeah, not sure about the 681. Can’t imagine iron design being that sophisticated back then. I do know that there was a “story” or rumor that when Nike did take the titleist irons apart, there were tungsten shaft plugs. From a club craftsman perspective, I believe that is frowned on. Now-a-days the processes have become much better allowing much higher levels of precision. But then again, 2-3 grams here and there didn’t do much to CG location.

I think it really comes down the hosel length. Just shorten the hosel to get the CG right. A long hosel would bring it in to the heel. Or port the heel. I figure with CAD these days, they can pinpoint CG way way before they even make it. I’d love to here some marketing on that!

Or maybe Eons only starts when Tiger switches to Nike irons.. Did learn something though Nike irons have tungsten plugs in them and eons is really about a decade.

Everything I'm hearing is that this is going to be a standard club in TM's iron line up?! Not limited in any way...it's the new blade. I think that's a super smart move, personally. The coveted Nike blades were general runs, too, and they're still sought after years later. Love that these are gonna be freely available (if that is in fact, true).

Wrong. My rep said he’s only getting 10-15 sets. I’m trying to make sure I get one of them!!

So I was told today when I ordered a set that these will be available this summer and will not be limited.  The limited sets given to reps are only for the initial release.

There will be 2 types of release.

I bet the initial release comes with the fancy box and the regular release will not.

Who cares about the box, just as long as I can get a set!

I know some will want the LE collectors box.  I wonder if the LE irons will be different then the full release?
