He has gotten much better around the greens, if only he could putt. I was watching the Tour Championship and they talked about how Sergio's game is much more solid. He's probably the all-around best driver and is sick with irons. He leads in GIR and GIR from a missed fairway. He just has to change his putting. He's getting there, I see maors in his future.

Sweet wedge, I'm gonna try and find one like it. Maybe it's a limited edition or something.

Actually, a y-cutter will spin less than a spin milled wedge because the y-cutter has a smaller groove (Which is true according to TM hos anonymous (aka Nazi Squad Golf and its affiliates)). This is by about 10% of a conventional groove. All a Y-cutter groove is, is a soft box! No y-shape what so ever. If he wanted less spin he would have gone with a y-cutter! But he wants the extra spin so he went with a spin milled. I'm not saying thats the one and only reason why he picked to play a vokey over a rac but I am saying that the move to a spin milled was for more spin. Mabey its just that he likes the way vokeys look.

BTW: don't start a Tour vs retail debate. They are too close to tell just like the difference between forged and cast right?

I have heard that a Y-cutter will spin less from around the greens because of the slightly smaller groove, but it will spin more out of the rough, because the Y grooves clear away grass better. A box groove with sharp edges will spin the ball most around the greens, but it will also chew golf balls easier.

Post dosen't make much sense but I will try.

We have to remember that a y-cutter is essentially the same shape as a spin milled only it is 5-10% smaller. NO Y SHAPE at all. So a larger groove in the rough can channel grass etc. better allowing for more face-ball contact thus increasing spin. Out of the rough or in wet conditions are really only where this is very noticeable. I posted on another board, that i will call Nazi squad golf, that I was spinning a spin milled wedge about 20 RPM's more than a y-cutter on full shots. The result was a ban. This shows evidence that TM propaganda has been appearing on Nazi Squad Golf and that nobody should trust anything they say about any euipment!

Sorry about the rant but this NEEDS to be cleared up. If I were a mod I would put a sticky listing groove shape and size of the top 10 wedges on the market as a sticky. But thats just me... :tongue:
