Yes, if you’re wanting a set, the TWs would be the first I would secure ASAP. From what I’m hearing, several reps already have most if not all of their sets spoken for. The TWs will be much harder to get than the Blueprints. I would imagine we see most of the TWs in the hands of golf course/TM account employees hands. Being severely allocated/limited like this usually means the account holders themselves buy and keep them in a lot of cases.

I guess I need to figure out who my local rep is and see if they have any sets left

The TM is a pure blade. The Ping isn't.

Huh ? How is that ? Ping isn't hollow.

If you want to be technical both are muscle backs. Neither are blades. Venture a guess (educated one ) that tigers irons have some weight in the toe as well. Same same.

I thought a muscle back was a blade?

No, he is correct these irons are technically classified musclebacks. A true blade iron was a club from a much early period in time. Something you might find in the barn or the grandparents basement. The term blade is used like Kleenex for a tissue.

Irons: 19' Cobra CB's
Drivers: Titleist TS3 & Cobra F9
Fairway: Titleist 917F2
Hybrid: A-Grind
2 iron: Ping Rapture
Wedges: Ping Gorge 2.0 Stealth's
Putter: Evnroll 9.1
Balls: ProV1

We are back in business guys, missed this site...
same, except I hate the layout.

sorry golfwrx. :/

Yeah, I'm glad we're back online but I agree the layout/theme is poor right now. I have to imagine it'll get better though, this looks like a default theme and I would guess they'll start making customizations to make things look better.

Must admit the Blueprints are the first Ping iron in a long time I'd actually consider putting in the bag, but as my last 2 sets of irons have been the Nike OG Blades and the VR Pros I'd have to say the TWs, just as they are what I'm used to.

Both Nike sets have the tungsten slug in them as well which really helps move the sweetspot back into the middle of the club. Deceptively easy to hit irons imo.

The Dee Three - Titleist TS4 9.5 deg, EvenFlow White 6.5 65g, A1 Setting

Henrik - Titleist 917 F3 15 deg, Rogue Max 75x, B2 Setting

The Walking Stick - Titleist 818 H2 19 deg, Rogue Max 85x, B2 Setting

The Interloper - TaylorMade P770 3 iron, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5inch +1 deg loft

The Blades - Nike VR Pro 4 - AW, S400 Tour Issue, +0.5 inch

The Sand Iron - TaylorMade MG2 TW-12 Grind, 56 degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Flopper - TaylorMade MG2 TW-11 Grind, 60 Degree, S400 Tour Issue

The Putter - Nike Method 003 from The Oven

How much was the upcharge for the modus shafts? Also, what’s the cost per iron for them?

I honestly don’t know exactly. In the neighborhood of $200 per iron plus shaft and grip upcharge. Sounds crazy. But under the circumstances of the canceled P7 TW order I didn’t even find out. All I know is “ cheaper that those “. Sorry I can’t help more. I can probably find out Monday through the shop.

Just wondering cause I wasn’t able to get my hands on the TWs and right now it looks like the middle of July before they would “ship”. I guess I’ll have to find out who my local ping rep is. I’ve never gamed ping irons but I’m always down to try something new!

I actually got to hit both the P7TW and the Blueprints side by side a couple days ago. Of course I forgot to take any pics... First of all head shapes are night and day which probably doesn't come as a surprise to anybody. The blueprints looks like a shrunken version of the Iblades with a higher toe and absolutely NO offset. I play the 718 mbs and I didn't even realize they had any offset at all until I sat them side by side with the BP.. :) Feel wise I would say they are a lot softer than the Iblades but not silky smooth like 718mbs or the Apex mb. Also might be an illusion from the matte finish on the BP compared to the chrome (I always thought the chromed Apex mbs felt softer than the raw ones so there might be something to it...). But definitely the best looking and feeling Ping irons I've ever tested

First impressions of the P7TWs was that they looked like EXACT copies of the Nike VR Pro blades from 2011 which i know Tommy Fleetwood played before he swapped to the P7TW, so they probably aren't that far off. Long-ish blade and not super small by any means. Definitely bigger than both the 718s and the BP. Feel is actually somewhat unique. A very sort of heavy feel coming off the face and feels like the ball stays on the blades for longer if that makes any sense. Softer than the blueprints for sure, but still not the softest out there due to a sliiiight click noise (being very picky here). Just a great all around old school blade with nothing special going on and I guess that is what Tiger likes. Pings feel more modern with a more square shape and duller finish. Depends on what you like.

If I were you and didn’t have a trusted local shop who can call the rep directly with you standing there , I’d call discount dans probably and order. Most people swear by them for ping. I wouldn’t just order from a big box store and trust them. I happen to have met our rep through the store i buy from and he had been helping me directly with another issue. And contacted me to let me know I could order. So when he came through I did.

Yep. I’d say 100 % spot on. I’ll still say that the P7 is a great iron. IF you could actually get a set from Taylormade and if price was same as blueprint . For right now , no availability plus higher price equals no real choice.
