Looking at the facts of last year, Tiger had his chances but played very timid final round against a charging field and shot a comparatively poor low score failing to win while Casey shot an aggressive and fantastic -6 under final round for a much deserved win.

Oh sure. My hyperbole for sure is always too much. But it would have been a great opportunity to grab a win. A final score that high on tour isn’t common. And put tiger in DJs spot on Sunday and I have a hard time seeing him not going -3 or 4. I like Paul Casey. But the truth is that no real pressure was put on him Sunday. DJ puked himself. And closets next was kokrack and he never really threw any pressure up. Just had the opportunity to do it.

Tiger hasn’t exactly been a good closer last year or this year, other than TC (when Rory “puked” over himself) Tiger’s had a tendency to freeze when in or close to the lead. Tiger also last year at valspar putted poorly (losing 1 shot to the field final round), and is also not putting well this year. Also it’s a difficult course off the tee, so again not a Tiger strength.

You do agree though that Tigers mediocre showing ( your words) last year was good enough score wise to win this year , yes ? And it played with more wind last year. Yes ? How can we say he didn’t stand a great chance this year then ?

Sorry, they’re not my words - they’re your words. And I didn’t say he “didn’t stand a chance this year”, again your words. I specifically said in response to your agreement to Tiger winning “easy, probably by 5 shots” was that it’s a “little convenient to say”. I then went on to give sound evidence why stating that Tiger struggled last year to close out a win when he was much closer to the leading score than Casey, yet Tiger couldn’t get it done then. I then gave more evidence that Tiger’s strength isn’t off the tee and this course is very demanding off the tee. I also correctly highlighted that Tiger’s putting this year hasn’t been great either. All this evidence/factors conclude that it’s a “little convenient to say” Tiger would win “easy, probably by 5 shots”.

I really don't think that's a great course for a weekly event. BORING as all get out! It's not a US Open week with the dried greens and heavy rough etc etc

PGA National and Bay Hill, 2 recent examples, offer up WAAAAAY more drama with watery holes, late reachable par 5's etc etc
