Looking for Club In the Southeast

I’m looking to join a club in the southeast. I live in the northeast and want something in the Carolinas, Georgia, or Florida. Want to find a good private course that is ideally walkable, good to play, family friendly, etc. A decent tennis and pool complex is a plus. Needs to be somewhat near a major airport. Willing to spend $500-750K for a 3-4 bedroom place. Would like it to be the kind of place we could lock and leave for extended periods of time. Would love to hear suggestions. TIA.

Thanks for the offer but we’re full down here :smiley: Seriously though, you could spend 365 days straight in NC alone checking out all of your options between the Coast, Sandhills, Triangle, Triad, Charlotte metro, and Mountains.

Look in Chattanooga, TN. There are a ton on great golf courses in town and some that are right out of town. Also, the availabilty to drive or fly to just about anywhere out of Chattanooga is quite nice. The airport is small and very easy to get in and out of.

$500-750k will give you plenty of money to buy a great house in a great neighborhood down here as well.

Google for golf courses, too many to note but most folks will tell you about Sweetens which is right out of town, as well as many other public and private courses in town.

Maybe Thornblade in Greenville,SC. I’m pretty sure that’s where the Haas family has homes. It’s minutes from GSP airport (depending on traffic). Chanticleer is also another one in Greenville not too far from the airport.

Sea Pines? Spend a little more, and offset the add'l price to rent out the place. I believe there are condos going for less than that near, but not on, the beach.

Lots of options in the Pinehurst area. If you're looking for a more private club, the Forest Creek and CCNC communities could be good choices. If seeing some "resort" play wouldn't bother you, there are a lot more membership options, including the Pinehurst Resort, Talamore/MidSouth, and Pinewild.

Hopefully the Hilton Head guys will chime in. A lot of great privates in that area.

One can fly from Hilton Head or Savannah into ATL and then obviously you can fly about anywhere from there.
