Should I switch from MP59 to P770?

I've used MP59 irons for the better part of five years now. No big issues with them honestly. Decent ball striker, no contact issues really. I've just read a number of reviews and watched Shiels and Crossfield hype these irons up quite a bit, which really intrigues me

 

So, do any of you have any experience with these two in particular or anything similar?

I have p770 and the spin well and launch high. Which was my main reason for switching from Mizzy Jpx 900 forged. The mizzy were hot and I was not as consistent. I was not fit for either set though. Anyways will be keeping my p770 for a little while.

Side questions: Which shaft do you use/how do you like it?

If you are looking for more forgiveness especially in the long irons than go P770. Long Irons in the 770 are tungsten weighted.

 

If there’s absolutely nothing wrong with your Mp 59 than go Mp 18 MMC. That would be the closets replacement.

Love my p770's. I have tried the new p760's and I honestly think the feel of the fully forged 770s are better. Forgiveness on them is good also.

I played P770's before my 750's and they were phenomenal clubs. My buddy I gave them to switched from Mizuno's not sure which model but he prefers the 770's. If you have access to demo/try them I would recommend that before buying!

I played the MP 15’s (similar to the MP 59’s) and recently switched to the P770’s. While I loved the feel of the MP 15’s, I always struggled with distance control. The P770’s feel just as good if not better and have better distance control. I got the P770’s with the stock KBS Tour FLT shafts and took awhile to adjust but actually surprisingly really like them. Really easy to launch the long irons.

I recently have had a few sets of mizuno's mp18 mmc/sc, mp15, mp25, mp32. I just got a set of P770's. I think these may be the one's. The ball just comes off so nice, flight is good with the FLT. I don't love the normal KBS tour but these Tour FLT shafts seem pretty good. The top line may be a bit squarer and maybe a bit thicker but I quite like the look of them. Hitting the center of the face isn't really my issue normally but these def give me confidence knowing that on an errant strike they will still go pretty well, seem very forgiving. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by them.

I likw my p770. They are very consistent and mine have accra 90i shafts. Distance is good and predictable. And in my opinion they are a great value. You can pick up some nice ones for a reasonable price.

I found the same, plus tried the I210's as well. Have my P770 with the KBS FLT shaft, and haven't found anything better

Kbs tour FLT 110 Regular. I had CFS reg in my i25 which where a little loose. I had px lz 5.5 in my jpx 900 forged which felt tight but launched a little low for me. I play 7 iron as my 160 club.

P770 is one of the few irons I have owned that I believed felt better than my prior sets of Mizuno. These things are pillow soft!
