Spin lowering shaft for 93-96mph

Good morning ladies and gents. Need a lower spin shaft that doesn't feel like a poker. Current driver is series, 9.6 degrees, stiff Alta. Ok for carry but never seem to get the run out that my similar level partners get. Also seems to stall into a strong wind no matte what ball I use (TP5 and Z-Star). Anyone experienced the Ping Tour 65 or something similar in an R or firm flex. A hook or left is lethal on my home course so don't want something too lively. I will add I live in the North of England where good club fitters are harder to find than a square tyre.

The shaft being the cause for high spin is quite far down on the list of what typically is causing the spin problem. This is the list in order of importance.

1) Face impact location

2) your swing (dynamic loft delivered - NOT AoA)

3) head loft

4) maybe the shaft contribution (only IF the player has a late enough release).

 

So save yourself some money and before you resort to a new shaft, try the following self fitting tutorial with your existing shaft. All it takes is some foot powder spray, some lead tape, and a little time of the driving range.

If that doesn't help - then it might be worth it to try a shaft with a stiffer stiffness profile (Like maybe the Ping Tour shaft).

I'm in the same range as you and I'm a big fan of the Tour65 R flex. I tend to overswing the tip stiff shafts, and this seems to have the right amount of load for me.

 

But realistically, all things equal a robot tested shaft isn't going to make more than a few hundred RPM difference. If it causes your swing to change, that can be a bigger change.

 

I was tested at Ping and by pure numbers the fitter would have put me in an Alta, but with the Tour, everything from impact pattern to release point to smash factor tightened up considerably. Of course that it plays shorter likely helped a lot of that as well.

First thing is to find out where is the spin coming from? Because if you do have a negative AoA, then there is not much help from shafts.
