Erik Anders Lang posted a pretty cool interview from his archives today. Samuel L. Jackson talking about the mental side of the game for Erik's unfinished documentary, "Be The Ball." Lots of good stuff in this video.

I was actually kind to the guy. He's a flat out racist whom I don't care to listen to. I'm done with it. Plenty of anecdotal evidence on the internet.

Yup. He's been pumping out a lot of YouTube content lately. He has a small production company with a couple editors that take all his footage and piece together videos. (edit to add: probably some of the highest, if not highest, production value of any golf YT content right now) Most of his content is on course. He had a large series of videos playing through Scotland and he does some "Random Golf Club" videos where he plays all over the US.

 

He has a podcast called the "Erik Anders Lang Show" where he interviews all sorts of different people . He's over 100 deep on that. I haven't listened to many of them, but he has a few gems. The Blake Mycoskie (founder of Toms) episode is probably my favorite. Charley Hoffman was also a good one.

 

Erik is also the host of "Adventures in Golf" on the Skratch TV channel and runs most of the television advertising of Vice Golf.

I'm not sure I can agree that golf is the perfect game. I really like golf. I play every day Monday- Friday, but if I was still young enough to play baseball, I wouldn't be on the golf course.

That sounds about right. It fits the bill of what we expect from a game: intrigue, suspense, frustration, excitement, the joy of victory and agony of defeat, etc. Unlike team sports, it can be played alone or in groups. It's not a game of perfect because no matter how much time you put in, you can never say you've perfected your game.

 

This podcast fits in nicely with the other mental game improvement podcasts I've been listening to lately. Good listen.
