Project X HZRDUS Smoke vs. Mitsubishi Diamana

After a demo of the Callaway Epic Flash with Project X hzrdus shaft, I am wondering if this is a better overall shaft than my Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 70x and perhaps the best overall shaft available. i see it being offered as standard by many companies. i couldnt believe how smooth the shaft feels and im considering switching from my trusty diamana, which i really like, and just going ahead and buying the new callaway driver. what is the profile of the project x compared to the diamana d+? obviously this is a feel preference but what do you guys think? is this shaft good enough to knock a diamana out of your bag?

Overall the profiles are somewhat similar. Both are fairly linear with some minor bumps in stiffness in different places. The D+ has a small bump in the mid giving way to a softer tip and the Smoke has a small bump in the tip. The most notable difference is the Smoke has a much stiffer butt section overall. I wouldn't imagine there would be much of a performance difference, so it should be a feel decision. If you love the feel of the Smoke then go for it!

I have tried both in my driver. The D+ felt a little softer in the tip and less stable than the Smoke. D+ I would sometimes lose left but the Smoke seems to want to go straight. Just my observation.

I am big on Project X shafts. PX 6.0 since 2007, and 5.5 now in my irons followed with PX6C12 Tour issue in the driver and PX7C3 in 3 wood since their introduction. That said, Hzrdus Smoke and I do not get along so it's in the garage shaft barrel. I still like PX6C12 Tour Issue but Fujikura Fuel Tour Spec "S" gets most of my driver attention. There will never be another Diamana Blueboard 83 x5ct,"S" which dominates my 3wd.

Came from a Taylormade M5 with hzrdus smoke 6.5 into the epic with diamana d+ 70 which I’ve just been fit in to. It was down to these two shafts and the T1100 but the diamana won out by a bit.

The feel in the diamana is a lot more lively, I’ve found that if I try to load it like I did with the hzrdus then I’ll lose them left. However when I am a little more patient in my transition it’s a club that gets my ball speed up to about 167 and carry to 273 yards which is about 6mph and 25 yards extra. However it’s only been a few days with it so it’s a work in progress at the moment.

I’m not sure on everyone else’s opinion but the diamana definitely feels a bit softer up near the butt Which makes sense since it has a high kick point.

I tried to find info on the hzrdus kickpoint and its EI curve but couldn’t find it, does anyone have that info?
