Adding Weight to 2-Ball Putter

Just apply tape on the sole of the putter. Try to keep the weight even.

That’s what I putt with. I took the tape and cut it the length of the putter face then applied it on the bottom right up against the face. Then I cut pieces and placed them running down the center front to back and against the tape under the face. Choose the weight you are comfortable with, mine is 3 deep each stack. Works great for me.

Here's what I did:

I bought some lead weights for fishing, melted it, and poured it into the "hollows" of the sole. e.g.

After cooling, they pop right out. Then I roughed up the "hollows" with a dremel so that epoxy would have something to stick to. I then epoxied the lead inserts into the bottom, and ground out enough lead starting at the center of the putter until I got it the weight I wanted. It's a little ugly, and I could pretty it up if I then filled the parts I hollowed with more epoxy, but I'm cool with it.

I have a original 2 ball filled & tour line and a original 2 ball mid (cut down to 32.5") that I can part with.

Thanks for the help/comments. I put a small. squarish piece of lead tape in the middle front of each of the two bottom cavities. It worked. It has made it easier to get the ball to the hole.

GolfWrxer irony: I bought a Newport 3 putter so that I can experiment with a putter that has a lot of toe flow. It's a departure from my 2-Ball style of setting up with everything square and feeling a "straight back & through" stroke. Now I'm set up open and using a more arcing-type stroke.

The jury is still out on which putting style I prefer.
