Mizuno 919 forged

Anyone have any dislikes with them? Currently playing the p790 but looking to try out the 919 forged. Dont have anywhere close to the them out. Thanks

What is it you're hoping to get out of the Mizuno that you aren't getting from the TM's? I've played both but have owned the 919F's for about 6 months. Great irons. Not as hot as P790's and more spin but man are they a joy to play with.

Honestly have wanted to try out mizuno for a while and just love the looks of these. Just looking for a set of new irons. Would be nice to try out a few sets but nothing within 4hrs. I have really enjoyed the p790's.

They'll definitely feel softer than the p790's, but may also be about a half a club short without an optimized shaft for your swing.

The 919 Forged are like an improved version of 790's with almost as much forgiviness but feel like a forged iron.

I play both these sets interchangeably between AZ and CA. Set ups are:

P790 with Modus 130 S

919F with Nippon SPO S

 

Other than the 4 iron for my swing do I sense any difference in performance in terms of trajectory and distance. The P790 4 iron is about 10 yards longer then the 919F after a season. The feel and sound preference goes to the 919F. Its really not the bad with the 790's just a little less muted and and solid on pure contact if that makes sense. Really the 919F (PW is 919T) are just amazing sticks for feel, muted/powerful sound, and great mishit feedback.

 

OP cant go wrong with either...I love both and thoroughly enjoy them both!

Go to Global golf website. You can try the Mizunos for 14 days for $50 bucks( usually $100) . If you like them they knock off the $50

Thank you everyone for the info! Much appreciated. Didn't know that about global golf. Might have to try that out! Not sure on shafts. I have the dg s300 105 in the 790's. Never tried the modus shafts.

Can't go wrong with either set, both are really good. Main differences are the TM are larger, stronger lofted, and more forgiving. Mizuno definitely feel better and I like the matte finish better. Just depends what type of iron fits you better. Not sure I would sell the P790s to buy the JPX Forged I just don't think it would be worth it since you have a great set already.
