Hitting Low In Face w/ driver

Played a round today and played well just couldn't hit my M6 driver for anything. Kept hitting it super low in the face and 1 time completely topping the ball.

 

My question is... Is it likely just swing related or possibly related to shaft stiffness. The few times I hit it solid it flew long and straight.

 

I went from HC HZRDOUS Black 6.5 to Small Batch Smoke Green 6.5 non TX verison. It doesn't feel overly different but wondering if it could have just been a bad day with the big stick. Thoughts?

Just me, but I would not base the results of one bad ball-striking round on shaft stiffness alone, especially considering it was one club. Give it some time, especially if you just made the switch.

Is the shaft/head set up completely new to you? If not and you've hit it well before then the answer is simple, golf. If it is new give it time before making any crazy decisions.

Highly doubt it's the club. Sounds like your hitting off your back foot or driver setup is off slightl causing you sway. Did you hit any fat shots that round? Try hitting balls with feet together for a drill.

Had the same thing with my M1, shafted with a Rogue XS, gave me super numbers on TrackMan when I got fitted. But on any "not so good day" on the course, I'd hit everything with the bottom of the face.

Borrowed my BIL's old 910 with a Stiff shaft, and immediately struck it better. M1 is now for sale.

Lesson learned, no more chasing optimum numbers at the range

It could be just a ball positioning assessment. Hitting it low on the face is because the swing is on an upward angle. Move the ball back in the stance and see if that does not fix the problem.

My swing (and game) has been on a slow, grinding flameout for months now. Among all my other longstanding issues, a few weeks ago I started hitting 2-3 drives per round low and toward the heel. That's a miss I'll bet I hadn't seen more than a handful of times in the 460cc driver era. What ugly, ugly shots those are!

 

So that finally pushed me over the edge. Out of desperation I called up my buddy the teaching pro who I hadn't seen in two years. Now it's been two rounds since that lesson and I haven't hit one in the neck yet. Thank goodness. Still a work in progress but that shot showing up was certainly a low point.

I want to say it's just a bad day but I had switched from t1100 to Evenflow blue and couldn't hit it for the life of me. Switched back and it was instant difference

I notice that with both of the low spin drivers (2016 M2 and Rogue) that I've had to start teeing the ball down...anyone else notice they have to tee lower for low spin drivers? Maybe it's just me...well it's for sure me...but I used to tee the middle of the ball at the crown of the driver...now I am teeing it with 3/4 of the ball below the crown to hit it flush consistently.

You know what they say, play like you're swinging. Shouldve tee'd it up higher. I have these days and I discover I get lazy and realize I can be a bit upright at address. That usually fixes it. Hope this helps.

Weight change in the head from shaft stiffness? Different feel that either needs changed or needs getting used to. It can really throw off your timing at first
