So Just How Old Are We??

I'm 54 this year, all my friends ( at least 10 -15 years my junior ) insist on playing the back tees, hate to give back all the dollar nassau I had taken from them over the years.
I told my wife, I'm eyeballing the remote push cart in about 10 years.
Why is that when you get older, the 18 hole round flew by quicker, you feel you want to get more but your body said take it easy.....

I'm 57 and I play from the blues. One of the groups I play with is made up of guys around 40. They are all long. It drives them crazy when I out drive them.....or out putt them.....or royally beat them down.

I'm 71 and it's funny I can remember my age but not who I am.

Just turned 61. Been playing off/on since I was 16. Laid off completely for about 10 years, and got started again a couple of years ago. Getting serious about it again, and playing pretty well if I do say so. Handicap is dropping weekly now that I'm in south Texas for the winter and playing 4/5 days a week. If my back holds up, I should be back in single digits SOON.

I am surprised how many youngsters are posting in this Senior golfers section. In the UK club golfers don't qualify to be called Seniors until they are 55 years old. Don't rush to join us oldies. Enjoy being just a golfer. You younger players will have plenty of time as Seniors once you reach that age milestone.

I be 60 and playing over 20 rounds per month. I have to admit that I couldn't wait to become 55 as it opened a whole new competitive scene to me and also allowed me to play in the national senior championships. However my good friends warned me not to wish old age upon myself sooner as it gets here fast enough.

Just turned 50 and am loving my game. As I get older my game gets better, or back to what it use to be. I fixed my putting (now back to a standard lenght putter w/the same putter in the bag for 6 months), Driver still straight and long, Iron play good, still can't pitch or chip (but I never could).LOL

60 here and I play several times a week, walking and carrying my clubs. I get out driven by everyone but that doesn't mean I am not the first in the hole. ;-) Chipping and putting is my speciality and I do OK with FW woods.

I think people should play the correct tees. I see every young guy hit from the back tees and many don't get the ball to the womens tees. LOL

What's this obsession with age? As my beautiful young Russian wife says "You are as old as you feel." I have also heard it said that "You are as young as the woman you are feeling."

When I started to feel a bit worn around the edges, and tired of being single for twelve years, I re-married and decided to do a little sport to keep me in shape, I took up golf a year ago -aged 56. I had however played before - 41 years previously.

I quickly discovered that I could no longer easily purchase four matched persimmon woods, or Penfold Patent golf balls, which was quite a shock and I had to intensely study in order to understand modern shaft technology and the mutifarious types of available equipment.

But I am gradually coming to terms with the 'new world' and have managed to get myself down to a 10 handicap notwithstanding working very long hours for most of the time.

My favourite golf is playing alone at dawn. My golf club is surrounded by pine trees and these contain three varieties of wood peckers, jays, and other colourful birds. Occasionally various types of deer wander across the course.

If any of you guys travel across the pond then please look me up and we can limp through nine holes......or maybe eighteen!

Reminds me of the late great Black Baseball Pitcher, "Satchel" Paige whose age was always in doubt. He once said when asked a question about age, "If you didn't know how old you wuz.....How old would you be."

Just turned 64 and still looking for "the secret" even though I have been playing 40 years. (The 40 years does not count time off for open heart surgery, rotator cuff surgery, prostate surgery, melanoma surgery and shoulder replacement--getting old is hell). I'm still a ten handicap, but I swear it could be a five, if somebody will sell me 15 more yards on the drive.

Hit it further now than when I was a good 18 year old
Enjoy playing the whites occasionally with my 18 year old daughter who is headed to D1 golf next fall
