58 and counting, but very slowly. Interesting that so many youngster (40 and younger) are reading this forum. I wonder if they think we know something they don't? Sorry, the only thing I know that you don't is how much better your golf swing feels after you finally replace that worn out knee, how great it feels to hit a forged blade right on the nose, and what it really means to hit your driver "right on the screws".

52 and still foolishly ho-ing. Today I traded in my seldom used mx25's and Hibore XL driver for a used set of mp57's with a 30 day option to exchange for something else if the 57's don't work out.

I'm sixty-two and have been playing since I was thirteen in 1959.

 

I'm playing to about an eleven now, and since I was an eight at my best, there's not too much to complain about in that regard. (I used another word prior to my edit and got automatically censored to b****. Sorry. I didn't know we had nuns here!)

 

 

I don't like too much real estate, though. Not anymore. With six par threes, four par fives (ranging only from 470 to 525), and just eight par fours (with only half of them over 400 yards), my regular layout is just over 6000 yards from the whites. Just right as far as I'm concerned!

I'm 56. I wish all courses offered senior rates for 55+ but some insist on 60. In any case, I'd love to meet up with some other SoCal seniors and enjoy a friendly round sometime. I live in Diamond Bar and can easily travel to the IE, OC or the Valley where I work. Some of my favorite courses include Sierra Lakes, Temecula Creek (my home course), San Juan Hills, Costa Mesa, Rustic Cyn, River Ridge, Trilogy, and Encinitas Ranch, and Los Verdes. As you can see, I travel all over.

 

So Cal seniors, let's meet!

56 here. I work a few days a week at a local golf course during the season and I play a minimum of twice a week.

 

I started playing in 1966, took a LONG time off and got serious about golf about eleven years ago.

turned 60 in December, gall bladder removed in February, left hip is sore most of the time, and my 201K is rapidly becoming a 101K.....that goodness for the stimulus package.

I'm 63 and play 18 six days a week. I play the White (Middle) tees at 6500. I will play the Blue at 6900 but not excited about it since I can't hit it that far. My best round is 72. I've never shot under par for 18, nine yes, but never shot below 72.

 

I meet a group of guys called the dew sweepers at 06:30 every morning. We walk 18 and are usually finished by 09:30. When the weather gets better and the time changes, we'll probably play another 9 or 18 in the late afternoon.

My first post and what a better place than in the Geriatric Unit. I'll be 60 in July. Have a R7 10.5 Super Quad, Titleist 3-5 woods and my trusty Ping Eye 2's. the putter is a 32" Heavy Putter. Spring is finally coming.

61 in September--still play the black tees--cant find too many guys to play all the way back except for the college kids and they are toooo loooong. Retiring in July of this year and moving to Pinehurst full time. Only gonna belong to 6 course though--live is tough!!!

16 .... in a 65 year old body. Too bad, so sad, arthritis loves to jump into all our joints that we have repeatedly used 1,000's of times to hit the ball with (over a million swings in my lifetime).
Need new knees, left shoulder, and a new left thumb. I'm to the point where Aleve (better than Advil for golf, IMO), isn't doing the trick anymore. One plus though ... with the evolution of equipment and balls (started out with persimmon woods and Balata balls) ... I've lost no distance through the years. In fact, with my Ping Rapture V2 driver, I'm hitting it farther than ever.

I'm 78, soon 79-shoot less than my age 95% of the time-hit driver 220/245-sometimes 270 when I'm smooth and give it a full turn.
I am using the last driver I'll ever buy! For the 111 th. time!
Have several Ping G10 Hybrids-18, 21, 24, and 28*, all R shaft-I hit big sweeping hooks w/ "S" shafts?

My Dad is 72 and loves Golf..
He started to play after he retired.

He plays 18 hole twice a week walking.
I'm 40, and I might have played 18 hole walking 1 time. My golf league is after work event, so we only play 9 hole.


I'm proud of him for being in shape and doing what he loves.
