To anyone reading this... I'm somewhat new to the driver tech conversation. I'd love some feedback. Thoughts on a Rogue Sub Zero head on an Even Flow blue 6.5x? I swing about 105-107. I've always spun my old Taylormade Burner, with a stock shaft, too much. Never had it measured, but it struggles mightily into a headwind. I'm guessing it typically spins right around 3000. Maybe 4000+ into wind, haha. It's bad. So, my buddy gave me this club to try. So far, I'm enjoying it. I've seen several balls go 30 or more extra yards into a steady 15 mph wind, over my old club. So, it must be spinning less. Launch seems a touch lower, but not much. All seems well. I'm just wondering if this seems like a good fit or not? Or if there's some other factor I should be considering?

IMHO, you need a launch monitor with decent balls to get some data to sink your teeth into. Not only spin numbers but your AoA and what you do with the club. If you are over 3K with a modern driver, its the swing baby :) Every brand has some good driver heads that spin pretty low now a days, and sub models which can shave a few hundred more off such as the SZ.

I am about the same swing speed when I get on it, and I have a SZ, along with classic Rogue and an EF. I am awaiting my Mevo+ to do more detailed analysis for my swing, but with good range balls on a Trackman with my pro, the SZ was spinning a tad low for me. Rogue was the 2200-2400 range easily, but I struggled to get the SZ above 2K. If you get the launch good on that, high toe, the SZ at 1900 can be a bomber no doubt. I game a GD IZ 6S shaft myself, but also have sampled a few of the stock cally shafts in S such as the Fuji Green and the Mitsu tensei.

While forgiving compared to say my older XHot, the SZ will punish a bit more off center then the Rogue for my swing. Its a seductive mistress for sure when you get it right. Then you will get a random 1400 RPM liner that drops out of the sky and you go hmm...that's odd. :)

As for a good fit: are you finding fairways? More distance is great if you find it to be a bit on the wild side, unless the shaft is totally borking your timing and sequence try to get a hold of a non-SZ model and take it for a test drive.

If its working for you go play and tell it the SZ nice things so it feels good about itself.

If it's working for you and you're keeping the ball in play then why not? Not everyone needs to squeeze every last little yard out of their driver, if its already giving you more distance then your old driver then obviously its an improvement, as long as you're still keeping the ball in play.

I actually just started playing the same club same shaft a few weeks ago and it's working very well for me as well.
