Titleist T100 or T100s VS. Srixon 785

That is spot on! For my swing the pre worn leading edge helps with my thin stroke which is what I’m working on caused by my early release tendency. Both are great irons and could easily game either one. I wish all manufactures took the Mizuno and Srixon approach to grips and shafts.

Everyone is different, so you will have to try them out. I was a Bridgestone guy for a long time, and played all of their clubs and balls exclusively. When the well for access to them dried up (I had a business deal with them) I spent a lot of time looking.

Fortunately/Unfortunately the club I joined shortly thereafter was a Srixon club. The PGA Srixon tour rep is a member there, and I started tinkering. I never tried the 745 (Srixon Holy Grails from what everyone says) but tried and played the 765 and a couple of 565 irons. I have had access to many manufacturers equipment for free or at severely reduced costs since then and I am still playing the Srixon irons. The Cleveland wedges I play are because somewhat of the access I had and because I played Cleveland all my life since high school.

What can I say you nailed it. The Z785 were a touch to big for me which I did not expect coming from the origin 2014 Apex Pro's. The feel of the Z785 was great but the larger head and the modus shaft did not do it for me. I am regretting selling my apex pro's. I found a new set of cobra cm/mb in chrome 3-pw with KBS C taper 120 stiff shafts. Got them from golf vault. They arrived today and they just look sublime and after a few swings in the back yard the overall balance is pretty good. Man I just hope the mb's in the set are not to much club for me to handle. I am ready to give to them a red chance though. On a side note I feel like I am living in Canada and only get a partial year of golf as we are in stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne right now so no golf for me for 6 weeks at this stage. So apart from a few swing in the backyard there is no golf here not even ranges are open. Now just got to convince the bride that an indoor simulator is a great idea........... wish me luck with that.

I’ve had my z785s with Modus 120 for over a year now. Forgiveness for the category of the iron is fantastic and like everyone else said, they’re long and feel soft as well.

Ive been tempted to switch to AP2s/T100s being a moderate titleist fanboy, but when it comes down to it, I don’t see any way another iron set will have any positive effects on my game. I feel like I get as much out of these irons as I will with any

Thanks for the link. They are sold out ATM. Did you get the simulation gear as well? How has the net held up so far?

No just the net and the pitching net. Didn't really want the simulator. I am however thinking of getting home simulator from another company (the ones at Drummond Golf). They have a home version that would cost around $10k including installation. But that is only after covid lockdown. Yeah, it's good material and definitely will last for years. Good buy I say.

Srixis all the way. Much more forgiveness and better feel

I tested the 765’s vs the 965’s and went with the 965’s. Felt no real forgiveness gains from 765. I would say that if you are scared of the 965, don’t be.

Anyways, swore I would never leave the 965’s but T100s sounded like the holy grail I was looking for. Stronger lofts with near blade looks and feel. Sold the 965 and ordered up the T100s. After 5 rounds and a lot of range time, wishing I still had my Srixons. T100s are clanky and feel nothing like a forged players iron to me.

Needless to say, I can’t wait for new TaylorMade and Srixon irons.

A lot of my buddies have been going T100S and then slightly changing the loft to take away the offset. Definitely feel good off the face.

That’s what I did. Basically have normal iron lofts for today’s standards and they have less offset making 1 degree weak.

Ok guys, I have both the t100s and the z785. I'm a sweeper but I still hit down on the ball. The t100s turf interaction is miles better for my swing. Where I wouldn't get a divot before, the t100s digs down into the turf. Played a round today with both in the bag and I was shocked. The small size scared me but the lack of bounce really made a huge difference. This is just an anecdote about my swing, but after today I'm going to sell my z785 set. Maybe the key is that I don't lag as much as others, which I'm working on, but in my present state the t100s is eye opening for me.
