Equipment changes planned for the off-season

This is starting to be my off season as the weather is starting to get colder now and My clubs are all safe as I totally changed everything top to bottom started middle of August and just finished up in this month. This Covid-19 has been just a mess with everything at 1st being close everything so backed up that I know there will be more new stuff to hit and it will be out like crazy. Here is my list for 2021 and order that I got these clubs

 

1st came my PING G710's 4-PW with SteelFiber Aerotech shafts...Love them

next kinda strange is my Tour Edge Exotics 17* EXS220 2 Hybrid with HZRD 5.5 Grey smoke and a Tour Edge Exotics  19* EXS 220 3 Hybrid If anyone has a chance to try out their equipment I highly suggest doing so. Make fun all you want as being an old man's club they perform. 220-230 right down the middle with my 2H and 200-210 with my 3 Hybrid

Next 50* and 56* Vokey SM8 black wedges. Can't go wrong with them then my Scotty Cameron 34" Phantom X7 putter. Easy to align but there is no putter out there that will help me read the line better. Nice feel as I'm sure it will live up to my previous putters that I've own

Then I bought into the HYPE and glad I did with the Callaway Big Bertha B21 10.5 stiff RCH 55 as this might be the most excited that I've been for a driver in a very long time.

I also have a Callaway B21 3W 15* stiff shaft, easiest 3 Wood I've ever hit

I will only be looking at getting a new cart bag thats all.

 

I'm not expecting to go out and shoot par as I'm just want all this excitement of owning all new fitted equipment to carry over to next year as 2021 has got to be a better year for all of us and not just when it comes to golf either.

 

I enjoy hearing what people buy and excitement as to why they bought what they did but I don't care to hear how this or that brand just sucked or how this brand is so much better than brand X. Different strokes for different folks no holy grail out there when it comes to golf clubs as every brand has pretty much MAX'ed out and pretty equal.

 

Oh I'm not about to list what I sold and traded to get this set up as Wow! got good money for some of my JDM equipment and some custom Bettinardi putters. It was a longer list Lol. Hope everyone is enjoying the game and playing as much as they can and has a much better year in 2021.

I'm set on Driver/3wood (Sim will be in the bag a long time).  Looking to get fit to gap my longest wood and my longest iron.  Also looking to get fit for new irons or iron shafts.  Current iron set up has me launching a bit too high and spinning a bit too much.  I will try my best not to ho next year.....but once a ho always a ho.

Looking at a UDI 6 iron with graphite shaft. Also a new backup putter and replacing my 54 degree wedge.

For 2021, I plan to rehab my newly surgically repaired left shoulder.  Once I get healthy, I plan to get fitted for new irons.  Have my eye on the new TM P770.  They seem to be exactly what I'm looking for.  In a sling for 6 weeks so I'm pretty grounded at home.  And I hope to get a real driver shaft fitting.

So true!

 

I always do a reasonably thorough review of by bag in Sep / Oct, then spend the off-season pondering and tinkering and telling myself that I will be all set with one perfect set for the next season. Helps pass the months away when I can't play. Confidently participate in the "Bag is set challenge"...

 

And then it all falls apart with the new releases, and more tinkering when my rusty spring-time game does not hold up to the lofty expectations I have built up in my mind over the winter. Year after year after year... But that is part of the fun of golf!
