What next after 5 wood?

Been thinking about this post a lot. Decided to put my money where my mouth is for a run. Put the 56* in the closet (my far and away least used wedge, as well as least favorite, although unconventional), and stacked a 3 iron. Gonna give myself all winter during simulator league to test it. If I don't like it, I'll go back.

4-iron.  Thanks to the 0211's, my gap from irons to woods is pretty manageable.

21° wood.  Love it.  Was hard to find in a stiff shaft, though. So,  1-3-5-7 wood 5-SW.  My 5 iron is 23.5°. I carry two SW.  A set SW at 54° and a "specialist" SW at 56° that is pretty much only used for greenside bunkers.

20.5 degree Cobra OS 3-4 hybrid

24 degree Cobra F9 hybrid

26.5 degree Apex19 6 iron

 

That Cobra OS 3-4 hybrid is longest tenured club in the bag. Usually a very dependable 210-215 yards with mid high trajectory. Has beaten out all newcomers...so far.

if you are looking to replace a 4i, then possibly evaluate a 9W.  I carry a 7W in place of a 3i/3h and a 9W in place of a 4i/4h.  I just hit my fairway woods so much better than hybrids; they are about the same off the tee, but off the deck I hit my fairway woods much more pure
